We are looking for a researcher who can help ObjectRocket understand our customers and refine the vision we have for the newest iteration of our Platform. We want to develop a product that is easy to use, efficient and intuitive so that we can grow our consumer base.

Database architectures, especially NoSQL databases, pose significant challenges for performance and scalability in the cloudbut our team addresses these challenges head on. We support businesses of all sizes, providing a 24x7x365 expert support for MongoDB, Elasticsearch, Redis, and Hadoop instances in data centers across the globe.
ObjectRocket was founded in 2012 to tackle a serious deficiency in cloud infrastructure the database. There just werent any good options for developers, where the promise of performance and scalability were real. Today, we use our decades of experience building the systems that power some of the busiest sites and apps around the world to create a scalable, reliable, and easy to use database architecture. Your Job
We are looking for a researcher who can help ObjectRocket understand our customers and refine the vision we have for the newest iteration of our Platform. We want to develop a product that is easy to use, efficient and intuitive so that we can grow our consumer base.
What will you be doing?
You'll work with other members of the team supporting our branding, Engineering, and Design efforts in Austin; validating new ideas and helping us answer questions through qualitative research.
Some of the ways you may support the team include:
  • Validate new designs through ad-hoc or formalized user feedback sessions with internal users or customers.
  • Plan and carry out interviews and surveys to inform future product work.
  • Build relationships with key stakeholders and clients to gain deeper insights.
  • Establish and manage relationships with research-related vendors.
  • Conduct research activities as needed to support your particular product area.

Education/Requirements
  • Bachelors Degree required: A degree in design, psychology, business, human-computer interaction (HCI), related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years conducting user research for software/web-based products with stories to share, or the educational equivalent of a seasoned researcher. If you can prove through past projects that you know how to plan and execute an appropriate research project we will consider it.
  • Fast - Able to quickly share meaningful research results with teams. We deliver top-line results in 2-week sprint intervals.
  • Flexible in your approach to research. Our goal is to provide value. If an existing research method doesnt do that, we generate alternate methods that work.
  • Able to perform all research-related tasks in the research project lifecycle: Create a test plan, write a screener, recruit users, schedule users, moderate test, create video clip highlights, report top-line results, create research findings summary, and effectively present and share results.
  • Able to collaborate effectively with stakeholders and act as a strategic partner in product decisions.
  • Experience with remote testing tools.
