Function Description :
- American Express is one of the world's largest companies in financial industry dealing in payments business. Analytics is core business function in the company to inform and drive all strategic business decisions.
- This position is for one such core function in domain of Digital Acquisition (via the website).
- This job is for a Manager position in the Global Consumer and MGM Site Experience Analytics within the Enterprise Digital and Analytics (EDA) organization.
- The candidate will be responsible for the design and implementation of digital channel strategies which will drive profitable growth and acquire new card members for American Express.
Purpose of the Role :
- The candidate will work closely with colleagues in Global Consumer Products and Services Group and across various business units to drive growth, and marketplace differentiation for GCSG.
- The manager will be responsible for improving digital acquisition efficiency on Amex-owned properties through analysis, experimentation and deployment of optimized on-site experiences.
- The manager will be responsible for partnering with business partners and vendors to effectively scale up the digital testing program with complete quality control.
Responsibilities:
- Creation of best-in-class web-analytics products to optimize web-pages, website journeys, and acquisition capabilities.
- Leveraging the products to deliver actionable business-insights to key stakeholders (EDA partners and markets)
- Provide analytical and thought leadership in conducting marketing experiments with meaningful test design, flawless set-up and insightful analyses
- Build and manage a team of highly competent & motivated individuals and drive them to deliver superior business results.
- Implement and maintain reports and dashboards - provide insights that influence decision making and product priorities
- Analyzing performance of current initiatives and present findings and solutions to senior leadership.
Critical Factors to Success
Past Experience:
- 4 to 6 year work-experience in analytics industry with a background in digital analytics
- Preference for experience in hypothesis testing and web analytics
Qualifications
Academic Background:
- Post graduate (M.Tech / MBA / M. Stats / MA Economics)
Functional Skills/Capabilities:
- Expertise in application of analytics (applied statistics / quantitative methods) for solving business problems
- Expertise in hypothesis testing and web analytics
- Expertise in data mining and synthesis of multiple databases;
- Excellent communication skills with proven success in influencing business partners especially in a matrix and geographically spread partnership ecosystem
- Ability to handle multiple priorities together with effective project management and work allocation
- Ability to lead and engage team members
Technical Skills/Capabilities :
- Prior programming experience in SAS, SQL and/or HQL (Hive Query Language) in order to write codes independently and efficiently.
- Understanding of web tracking data and related technologies (Java, HTML) will be useful.
- Knowledge of machine learning in T&L will be an added advantage.g. Clustering, GBM analysis etc.
- Knowledge of Platforms : SAS knowledge is required, HIVE and Python knowledge will be added advantage
