Solstice Consulting Group is seeking a Director of Information Technology (IT) for its energy services client located in West Houston.
ROLE OVERVIEW
This role will drive overall planning, organization and execution of IT functions that support business operations, onshore and offshore, and meet customer requirements.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge on industry technology trends and applicability of software, hardware and cloud solutions. Proactive in understanding and staying up-to-date on the current projects in progress, projects in the pipeline and operational issues.
Sets policies, procedures, technical standards, methods, and priorities. Develop and maintain information security policies, standards, guidelines and oversee the dissemination of security policies and practices.
Control and recommend budgets, leveraging influencing and negotiation skills across IT and the enterprise to enable cost-effective and innovative shared solutions.
Controls the selection, development and training of information technology professionals and other staff and monitor their performance. Allocates staff within information technology locations. Some international travel required as needed.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Develops and executes the technology strategy which is aligned with key business partners and internal/external stakeholders
· Defines critical objectives and is crisp with prioritizing investments and time to maximize return
· Develops plans and leads the expansion and support of corporate-wide systems and coordinate efforts with other leaders. Produces detailed time lines and business cases for new technology solution implementations
· Drives an important cultural evolution within the IT organization to stress the importance of return on investment, accountability and optimal operational efficiencies
· Drives a business-oriented culture and mindset driven by continual service improvement techniques
· Facilitate transformational change, fostering and promoting a faster moving, more creative and agile environment to keep pace with the industry, competition and external environment
· Builds excitement around the IT brand and transformation (inside and outside of the organization) to attract and retain talent and enable change
· Promotes productive and positive change to address business challenges
· Oversees an effective IT organizational structure and evaluates current practices to ensure the highest and best use of systems
· Evolves the existing structure to incorporate new governance models and processes to maximize technology investments. Enables innovation and technology trends to create business value by tracking a broad range of emerging technologies to focus on customer needs
· Leverages demonstrable leadership qualities to inspire and challenge a large team of technology executives
· Appreciates the inherent challenges associated with leading transformational change across the organization coupled with a rapidly evolving industry
· Promotes and oversee strategic relationships between internal IT resources and external parties, including vendors and partners
· Presents the external face of company technologies to its partners and consumers.
· Develops, implements and executes business plans in a positive manner with passion, teamwork and effective communication
· Analyzes complex business needs and oversees the development, design, implementation and support of IT solutions for existing and new applications and oversees the development and implementation of solutions that ensure data consistency and availability. Works closely with key stakeholders to understand business drivers and needs, drive priorities, communicate progress and establish a proactive approach to business challenges
· Coordinates enterprise standards, technology architecture and IT governance processes in accordance with strategic planning efforts and regulatory requirements
· Responsible for strategy, operations, financial and overall resource management for BI competencies, including data warehousing, reporting, analytics, performance management and delivery of information (mobile, portals) and Corporate and Back Office Systems, including HRIS, Finance, Sales and other Business Applications that support corporate activities
QUALIFICATIONS:
Education:
· Bachelors Degree required; Master's degree preferred in computer science or a similar technical field
Experience:
· 15+ years of IT related professional experience
· 10+ years people management experience
Required skills:
· Global implementation and support experience of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software packages such as SAP, JDE or Oracle
· Extensive experience with Business Intelligence and Data Warehouse systems such as Oracle OBIEE, IBM Cognos, Hyperion Essbase and MS SQL
· Extensive experience with data modeling, multidimensional modeling (star schemas, snowflakes, denormalized models etc)
· Extensive experience understanding different analytical processes for governance, measurement and KPIs
· Experience with implementation, management and adoption of cloud services such as Office 365, Azure and Oracle Cloud
· Experience managing large and multifunction projects and teams
· Experience implementing and managing a comprehensive Change, Incident, Problem Management, and other ITIL processes
· Great communication skills and ability to communicate technical and non-technical information at all levels of the corporation, including C-level executives
· Strong analytic and process skills to track and improve organizational efficiency and performance
· Has managed other people managers across multiple functions IT Operations and Applications
· Proven experience in IT leadership roles managing several areas of IT
· Diversified background of technical infrastructure experience demonstrated project management acumen and excellent vendor management skills
· Experience within Oil and gas industry strongly preferred
BASE SALARY OF $180K - $200K DOE PLUS 30% BONUS OPPORTUNITY AND LTI
