The team is currently in the midst of some exciting expansion, working on new projects, and building new digital experiences for both internal and external customers.
It is an agile delivery environment with momentum from some recent big successes, and an ambitious mission over the next few years!
We are recruiting for experienced Full Stack Software Engineers to join the team in our Bristol office.
We’re looking for people who bring a wealth of knowledge and skills, enjoy learning, working in cross-functional teams and upholding best engineering practices (e.g. continuous integration, test driven development, pair programming where it makes sense). Are you willing to share you experiences and guidance with others? You will also be keen to help shape our technical direction.
We pride ourselves on our friendly and collaborative work culture. Our Software Engineers work in small agile teams, to produce features that can quickly improve the lives of our users.
Our current tech stack:
- Includes Java & Spring Boot microservices, with React / Node micro frontends
- PostgreSQL is our preferred database
- We use ActiveMQ for "traditional" messaging, the teams have started to implement Kafka in production too
- We have automated CI/CD pipelines using Jenkins
- We use the Red Hat OpenShift (Kubernetes) platform, hosted on AWS
- We also take advantage of AWS cloud products where we can e.g. RDS, ElasticCache, S3
- We release to production every two weeks and are seeking to improve this even more
- Everything As Code!
You don't necessarily need experience in all of this stack, but the majority is a big plus. We welcome an aptitude & passion for building great software, a huge willingness to learn and embrace new things and want to be a part of a supportive and empathetic cross-functional delivery team!
We sell over 250,000 cars a year at the end of their lease, with a value of £2.4 billion. We need to replace the systems that manage this. We have started recently and have set up new Product teams to build & craft great software. If you looking for an exciting opportunity to work with some interesting tech in some great teams then this could be the role for you.
Go on - contact us!
All applications will be reviewed by the software engineering team leads directly, and will endeavour to reply back to all applicants within 24 hours (slightly longer if over a weekend!) with next steps. If you have any questions about the role or anything else before applying, please also get it touch. We like to keep our interview process as short and streamlined as possible..... we typically start with a short phone (or Zoom) call, we would then look to arrange a face to face interview in our offices, and that's it! We would then hope to offer you a job in our team!
