Senior Software Engineer (Python) at InfoTrust LLC (Blue Ash, OH)

Now is the time! Join the team at InfoTrust now and you will be a part of this amazing journey. Have your contributions directly impact the future of the company, the future of our industry, and your future growth!

In 2019, Tag Inspector, our tag auditing product, was awarded Best New Technology by the Digital Analytics Association (DAA) -- and for good reason! It is an amazing tool that helps our clients in the cutting edge world of Digital Analytics, Tag Governance, and Data Privacy. Although the product has been around for several years, there are still big plans for its roadmap, and we are looking for a Senior Software Engineer to join our engineering team and have an immediate and direct impact on its future. Also, because of our strong culture, there are infinite possibilities for your own growth along with ownership over initiatives and innovative solutions.

We are searching for a knowledgeable Software Engineer to join our engineering team. You will be responsible for developing smooth-running and innovative web applications and software products. Specifically, you will:

  • Work on front-end and back-end web development for Tag Inspector.

  • Be responsible for back-end Tag Inspector services, servers, and databases used to power the full platform.

  • Have real responsibility and freedom to code and implement your ideas.

Immediate outcomes for the first 3-6 months:

  • Working directly on our Tag Inspector product, and reporting to the Lead Architect, oversee the back-end code base, fix outstanding bugs and update APIs for integration with 3rd party systems.

  • Full R&D cycle for new Tag Inspector capabilities as we are testing market fit for new capabilities.

  • Learn big data architecture of Tag Inspector and explore different ways to improve the platform. We are using cutting edge AWS “stuff” and, while we are not looking for you to be an expert in cloud tech from day one, you must love optimizing high-performance systems to make them work better. Our marketing tags are running and collecting data on thousands of high trafficked sites and we are looking for a fresh perspective on how to make things better.

  • Build new features that are part of our product roadmap. Let’s just say that we have several patents pending and, on several occasions, we’ve developed technology or technical solutions that no one has ever done. If you find this exciting and you know and can convince us that you can achieve – let's talk.

Successful Traits:

  • Flexible – We are a small company and we all wear many hats. Everyone has their own specialty but demonstrating a hunger to learn new skills and take on new responsibilities is essential for this role.

  • High Standards for Excellence– We build software that reflects passion and care. This goes beyond just layout/formatting of the code itself…while important, it’s a small aspect of the overall picture. We need someone who is more concerned with what the application does and how well it performs over everything else.

  • Resourceful – Don’t reinvent the wheel. Use existing 3rd party libraries when available.

About you:

  • 2+ years experience with Web Development (HTML, JavaScript)

  • 3+ years experience with Python

  • 2+ years Experience with Relational Databases (MySQL, Postgresql, etc).

  • Working knowledge of Linux

  • Proven success as a software engineer. You must live, eat, and breathe technology

  • High level of creativity

Bonus Skills:

  • Amazon AWS Experience. An understanding of Amazon Web Services, specifically: EC2, RDS, VPC is a major plus

  • Experience with ‘Big Data’ technologies – Hadoop, Spark, Redshift, BigQuery, etc.

  • SysOps experience

Benefits include:

  • Free lunch and snacks everyday

  • Unlimited PTO

  • Flexible work hours

  • Fantastic Parental Leave policy

  • Employer-paid health, dental and vision insurance for you and your dependents

  • 401k with company match

Job Summary:

An Engineer II will enter this level capable of taking well-defined tasks and completing them in a way that is considered by the team to be high-quality with supervision from more senior team members. The progress through this level focuses on taking tasks of increasing complexity, scope, and importance and completing them with very high quality with a lessening need for manager/tech lead oversight. This level is the bread-and-butter level of engineering growth. Engineers at this level focus on becoming great engineers, learning how to set high-quality bars for their work without sacrificing productivity.

All engineers at and above this level should religiously follow stated best practices for the team without excessive hand holding. Engineers at this level will continue to make mistakes but should be improving the speed at which they learn from these mistakes. By the time an Engineer II is ready to be promoted, they will have focused on some technology as their expertise and become capable of mentoring interns and new engineers in these areas. They will start to participate more in the technical design process, often with guidance from senior engineers. They can own their independent small-to-medium features through from technical design to launch. The impact at this level focuses on task completion and depth in a small area of the codebase. Engineers at this level should be capable of releasing responsibilities for their area as well as on-call support for simple incidents in areas with which they are familiar. They communicate well and are capable of delivering feedback to peers and their manager. When given a task with unclear requirements, they know how to ask for clarification and vet all assumptions before work starts to reduce the need for re-work. They understand how their work fits into the larger picture for their team, and use this to identify conflicting requirements to their tech lead and product manager. An essential focus of this level is developing empathy for the users of their software, whether they be internal employees, customers, or other developers on the team. A team member at this level is seeking out the context they need to understand the why of a particular feature and nurturing this empathy via that understanding.

Austin Base Salary Range: 116,000 - 142,000 USD per year
Your job:
As a senior front end software engineer on this team, you will be responsible for designing and developing resilient, scalable solutions that help deliver some of the most critical user interface at Indeed. Your job:
Indeed Hire is a new and rapidly growing offering from Indeed that closes the last gap in helping people get jobs -- we are an actual hiring agency, driven by technology, and incorporating that all-important human touch. You can think of us as a start-up within Indeed -- breaking new ground through building new technology and leveraging Indeed systems to change the world of hiring!

We are a rapidly growing business, and were growing our Engineering organization to meet that growth. We experiment at a rapid pace and make strategic investments in scale where and when we need to. We strike the right balance between rapid development to vet new ideas and maintaining high engineering standards for our core technology. We are an agile organization, with an ever-evolving process that maintains a "just enough" process level; as part of that agility, we live by a principle we call "bias for done" - we would rather have less in process in order to get projects completed sooner, than spread ourselves thin in order to make progress on many projects. Finally, our teams have autonomy to solve their respective business and technical challenges, encouraged to collaborate with other teams, both within and outside our organization.

*

You will build & lead 3-10 diverse software engineering teams distributed across two sites globally

About you:
*

Track record in managing software engineering teams in consumer Web or SaaS products
*

A diverse, dynamic & innovative leader who enjoys supporting & developing peoples careers
*

Experience leading a geographically distributed software engineering organization comprising multiple teams
*

The ability to balance short term results with long term sustainability
*

Experience conceiving and leading organizational change
*

An evidence-based approach to making decisions, but also the willingness to take the occasional leap of faith
*
