Welcome to the International Society for Technology in Education (ISTE), home to a passionate community of global educators who believe in the power of technology to transform teaching and learning, accelerate innovation and solve tough problems in education.  ISTE is seeking a Salesforce Administrator who will be responsible for developing, maintaining and driving enhancements to our Service Cloud, Sales Cloud, and Salesforce-based Association Management System (AMS). The Salesforce Administrator will act as the technical subject matter expert for Salesforce and will focus on maximizing out of the box features and benefits to conceptualize, prototype and address business needs. The Salesforce Administrator will work closely with the IT team, consultants and other internal stakeholders to implement system enhancements and help to ensure that data quality is maintained.


The candidate must demonstrate solid technical skills blended with a value-to-business mindset and track record of leveraging standard methodologies to design, develop and deploy scalable Salesforce solutions.  Candidate must be adept at relational database models, and skilled at integrating multiple datasets to drive business value.



POSITION SPECIFIC DUTIES



  • Manage Salesforce platform including but not limited to development and maintenance of object customizations, process automations, fields/relationships, workflow rules, page layouts, validation rules, email templates, custom buttons and app installations, configurations and integrations

  • Oversee multiple Salesforce user and partner communities

  • Planning, reviewing and customizing Salesforce and associated products to optimize productivity and meet the changing needs of the organization.

  • Handling administrative functions including user account maintenance, reports and dashboards, workflows and other tasks as assigned

  • Managing inbound requests and responding to them in a timely manner; troubleshoot, resolve, escalate, and track system issues

  • Creating and maintaining thorough, up-to-date, functional and technical systems documentation

  • Owning data quality and maintenance, imports, exports, and updates using data loader

  • Managing user configuration, security management, roles, profiles and permission sets

  • Requirements gathering, technical design, developing or overseeing development, debugging, performance analysis, packaging and deployment

  • Owning the software testing process, which includes devising test plans, building test cases, establishing protocols and appropriate testing environments and coordinating UAT

  • Documenting and maintaining processes, policies, application configuration and help related materials for users

  • Keeping up-to-date on new Salesforce and 3rd party application products, features and functionality to recommend and apply improvements to internal business issues

  • Working with our integration platform to develop/monitor integrations for scalability and resilancy, including managing to Salesforce governor limits

  • Completing regular internal system audits and upgrade preparation

  • Driving org-wide adoption, training users and growing the Salesforce skill set across the organization

  • Work independently with members of the user community to define and document development requirements

Senior Web Developer Skills/Requirements:


  • Proficient in web technologies, including user interface design, and hand coding CSS3, HTML, HTML5, 

  • JavaScript and jQuery and UI frameworks such as Bootstrap or Foundation. 

  • Proficient in content management systems such as WordPress and Drupal with expertise in responsive interface development.  

  • Knowledgeable of Web Service Standards (RESTful, JSON, SOAP, SML, WSDL) as well as MVC framework such as Codeigniter.

Benefits


The District shall contribute up to $28,257.96 per fiscal year toward employee and dependent(s) medical/dental coverage; contribute $1,500 per fiscal year toward dependent(s) or employee medical/dental coverage or other approved deductions consistent with IRS regulations; provide life insurance of a minimum of $50,000 or a maximum not to exceed the annual salary of the employee. Holidays, sick days, and vacation are earned in accordance with the CSEA contract. Payroll deductions include the California Public Employees' Retirement System and Social Security.



Starting Date: As soon as possible after the offer of employment.

CLASS SUMMARY


Under minimum direction, provide information system application programming, database development and enhancement; administers the district database and transaction processing system; develops training workshops relating to the micro computer district standard software; and assumes and performs related duties and responsibilities as required.



REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES


Serves as resource in database development and enhancement: design databases using relational database structural analysis using one or more programming languages; administers and maintains servers that hold databases; functions as a webmaster: administers web server through setting up web configuration and services, creating user accounts, installing patches; assesses the need for new functionalities, conducts feasibility studies and cost evaluations and coordinates implementations; manages web site content; analyzes problems, design new web pages and write programs to improve web site. Functions as mainframe administrator; maintain integrity of district's database elements; lead project to add elements, involving creating a mirror image of the mainframe, re-structure by code, and load data into new structure, ensures all data is in alignment. Assists in the analysis, design and implementation of computer application systems; consults with district personnel on resolution of systems design problems; assists in the planning and development of system proposals; describes, creates, maintains, monitors and controls district date base; maintains and sets up parameters for the Transaction Processing System; trains personnel in data base concepts; may provide training using District standard software to district personnel; may function as the team leader of projects.

This position reports to the designated supervisor or administrator.



REQUIREMENTS


A bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field and four years experience in application programming and database experience, including experience in systems design and data base design and transaction processing. Knowledge of application programming & database administration; programming principles, procedures, techniques, database concepts and a full range of computers; integrated enterprise-level information systems; principles and techniques of systems design and analysis; transaction processing; principles, practices and language of computer operations; capabilities and limitations of computers and auxiliary equipment; testing and troubleshooting DBA related problems; English composition; principles of training. Ability to analyze and develop programs and systems, including writing, testing, debugging, documentation and operating instructions; administer district data bases; prepare data base schematics utilizing knowledge and abstract reasoning; read and understand educational data and information; elicit information and communicate with district personnel effectively; utilize required computer software; produce, finalize and check work efficiently; participate in the formulation of long range development plans and in conferences; contribute to the preparation of


new computer systems; maintain effective and cooperative working relations with departmental staff, administrators, management and vendors; write clearly and concisely. Working conditions: this position requires ability to use computer workstations throughout the workday.
