8Chili is looking for a Mixed Reality Developer to join us in creating the next generation platform for Surgical Training and live surgeries.
Working together with our Design, Art and Production leads, the Mixed Reality Developer will play an integral role in researching, developing, prototyping, and performing due diligence on large-scale real time rendering technologies for integration into our training platform.
Candidate must have the ability to work alone and in teams, incorporating input from a diverse group to integrate various contributions into custom tools, workflows, and production ready tech demos. Working on a project from conception through execution, this position benefits from a broad range of skills across real time graphics development, tool creation, hardware and network integration.
Responsibilities :
- Implement and improve a variety of fast and efficient core software using Unreal Engine 4 and Unity3D.
- Maintain and build code using C++/C# for all assigned work streams.
- Help provide architectural oversight across the entire application.
- Collaborate to devise optimal engineering solutions to technical challenges.
- Responsible for writing and distributing any tool plugins - must be an efficient developer able to rapidly prototype.
- Stay current on relevant technology and conduct necessary research, due diligence, prototyping, and testing to assess emerging technology options.
- Collaborate in peer education and self-study.
Position Requirements :
- 5+ years of experience working as a AR/VR Developer or comparative role.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, object-oriented design and design patterns.
- Expertise in C++/Unreal Engine, Blueprints, and an intimate knowledge of Unreal rendering. pipelines are required, with additional C#/Unity experience highly preferred.
- Solid understanding of 3D graphics features such as lighting, textures, materials, shaders and other low-level systems is required.
- Expertise in ARKit, ARCore, Oculus, Holoens and other Mixed Reality development stack.
- Ability to work in a dynamic environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
- Excellent communication skills at all levels, both on a technical and creative basis.
- Hunger to learn new things.
Bonus Skills :
- Multi-user networking experience.
- Experience with multi-threaded programming.
- Experience in debugging across a variety of hardware platforms.
- Experience with OpenCV and OpenGL.
