What are the details of this position:


As Javascript Developer, you will work on Geotab’s data visualization software, a web-based application that makes sense of the data collected by our state-of-the-art hardware. We receive detailed data and metrics from nearly 2 million vehicles, which is processed and interpreted to create actionable information for our Customers. Your job will entail working with both front- and back-end developers to build complex client side logic. You will develop complex UI and visualization tools (interactive charts, widgets and tables) to interact with large volumes of back-end data with fast response times.  You will be bridging the gap between visual elements and the server side infrastructure and defining how the application looks and functions


Duties and Tasks/Essential Functions:




    • Translating algorithmic models and analysis into visualizations that are easily understandable by both technical and non-technical audience

    • Interpret UI/UX wireframes, create an inventory of assets for development and translate visual mock-ups into live code

    • Build reusable code and libraries for future use

    • Ensure the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs

    • Optimize applications for maximum speed and scalability

    • Ensure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end services

    • Designing and implementing product features in collaboration with various stakeholders



Experience/Skills Required:




    • Degree/Diploma in Computer Science, Math, Software Engineering or a related field preferred

    • 3+ years of experience in a development role using JavaScript is required

    • Strong understanding of JavaScript and its paradigms, quirks and workarounds

    • Must know ES6 and its features, including destructuring, arrow functions, and module loaders

    • Good understanding of JavaScript state managers (such as Redux), libraries and frameworks for virtual DOM implementation
