A Day in the Life
The Software Test Team has an opportunity for a Senior Software/Firmware Engineer to help the team utilize automated and simulated test frameworks to script, test, and drive improvements in the quality of our products. In addition, the test team designs, develops, tests, validates, and drives continuous improvements in test automation and simulation frameworks.
Work on initiatives to drive continuously improvements in test processes and procedures. Follows internal standard procedures (SOP/DOP) related to software development and test processes. Define, design, develop, verify, and validate test automation and simulation frameworks. Read, analyze, understand requirements and provide feedback to members of the requirements, development, and test team. Keep abreast of technical and industry trends related to software verification. Provide leadership to Engineers across multiple sites, consisting of employees and contract personnel. Participate and contribute to product code and design reviews. Implement a robust test automation strategy to provide early and continuous feedback of product quality. Write and review test plans for new product features. Provide concise, timely, and accurate status reports of all verification activities. Identify, analyze and solve technical problems with minimal support from test and development team. Follow standards defined by the Food and Drug Administration for the medical device industry. Designs, develops, and implements testing methods and equipment. Applies in-depth knowledge of software V&V methods for safety critical, fault tolerant real-time software and embedded software engineering and formal qualification process Provide software quality assurance Design and develop test scenarios and methodologies for automation and simulation frameworks. Executes software test procedures and interprets/analyzes results to report and communicate software defects. Utilizes end user and product usage scenarios for reference while executing software test procedures. Coordinates and leads sync calls with local and overseas partners. Coordinate individual and team status with the manager and project manager during all project phases Troubleshoot and problem solve Review of test case and test results Write defect reports and communicate to interested parties Provide objective feedback to software development project teams Work towards departmental and project deadlines
Must Have: Minimum Requirements

Bachelors Degree in engineering or sciences with 4+ years of professional experience in software development and/or software test or
Masters Degree in engineering or sciences with 2+ years of professional experience in software development and/or software test
Experience in one or more of the following software languages: C, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, PHP or Objective-C.
Experience in software testing; Verification & Validation.
Nice to Have
4+ years of software testing experience
Experience with testing an Embedded or Mobile Device: e.g. consumer electronics, industrial, automotive, or medical devices.
Experience in one or more of the following software languages: C, C++, Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, PHP or Objective-C.
Experience with test automation frameworks.
Experience with version control tools: e.g. Surround, GIT, IBM Rational
Experience with requirements management system and defect management applications.
Knowledge of technology trends and domain expertise.
