Use state of the art tools and best practices to ship code quickly and safely (continuous integration, code review, automated testing, etc). The daily job of the money team is to write Ruby and Elixir microservices that communicate via HTTP, RabbitMQ and gRPC, deployed using Docker on a Mesos/Marathon cluster.


Communicate with each other. We are a remote-first team and company, working from our home or our Parisian office. We synchronize whenever needed (discussions around specs, pair programming, code reviews) so no-one is left alone.

REQUIREMENTS



  • 5+ years as a backend engineer.

  • Sie konzipieren und implementieren Softwarelösungen für das Web auf Basis moderner Frameworks und Technologien. Dabei implementieren Sie sowohl die Frontend-Logik als auch das Design entsprechend der Spezifikation.

  • Sie beraten Auftraggeber hinsichtlich der Usability der zu erstellenden Systeme.

  • Sie arbeiten eigenverantwortlich in agilen Teams und begleiten neue Lösungen von der ersten Zeile Code bis zur Inbetriebnahme.

  • Sie sichern permanent die Qualität der eigenen Arbeitsergebnisse hinsichtlich Funktionalität, Code-Qualität und Dokumentation.

  • Sie unterstützen im Betrieb unserer Softwarelösungen beim Bugfixing, bei der Optimierung und bei der Ãœberwachung.

  • Sie sind flexibel und lernbereit, halten sich bezüglich neuer Technologien und Vorgehensweisen auf dem Laufenden und treiben damit die selbständige Verbesserung Ihres Umfelds an.



Profil



  • Ein abgeschlossenes IT-bezogenes Studium oder eine vergleichbare Ausbildung.

  • Mehrjährige Erfahrung in der Entwicklung moderner Web-Anwendungen auf Basis aktueller Web-Technologien (HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, TypeScript, Bootstrap, Less).

  • Praktische Erfahrung mit mindestens einem SPA-Framework (z.B. Aurelia, Angular, React).

  • Praktische Kenntnisse im UI/UX-Design und die Fähigkeit, sich in Endanwender hineinzuversetzen.

  • Code-Qualität liegt Ihnen am Herzen. Sie kennen und leben die Clean Code Prinzipien.

What will you be accountable for?



  • You'll be working in a team responsible for surfacing the power of our AI models and state of the art data analysis methods by building web based applications. Our tools help our in-house scientists discover new medicines by by allowing them to run AI driven models and exploring the data beneath them. 

  • With your strong skills in Javascript and Python/Java, you have a keen interest in extending your skillset across a wider spectrum of technology, such as:

    • Our frontend tech stack currently consists of Angular 6, NGRX, SASS, Material Design and GitLab / K8s integration.



  • You'll work in close collaboration with a with Biologists, Data scientists, AI researchers and Chemists. We are all passionate about maintaining a consistent user experience across our products and value a willingness to be actively involved in other non technical processes such as user and UX research. 

  • You are able to iterate rapidly based on user feedback, experiment with different ideas, without losing sight of engineering quality. You’ll be willing to share your opinion on technical direction, and contribute to the mix of ideas.

This position is located in Volvos new Stockholm Software Technology Centre in central Stockholm.

 

Do you fit the profile?
* Experience as a back-end software engineer, designing and writing code, and even may have served as a technical lead.
* Expert in back-end development within Java, including data models, persistence layers, back-end services (REST APIs), app frameworks, caching and messaging services, as well as using 3rd party APIs.
* Understanding of Service Oriented Architectures and object-orientated programming
* Experience of working with AWS and Docker.
* Kubernetes experience is a plus.

 

Minimum Qualifications
* Bachelors Degree and a minimum 3 years work experience developing back-end software
* Strong software design skills and knowledge of design patterns
* Experience and expertise in developing consumer-facing products
* Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and associated tools (Jira)
