Job Description :
Job Summary :
- We are looking for Senior Application developer experienced in designing, implementing and testing solutions in Solr Search Engine.
- Candidate will establish best practices and guidelines for the development team to implement solutions that deliver Extraordinary Digital Experience for visitors of www.te.com.
- Position is part of the Digital Customer Solutions team focused on providing continuous innovations and enhancements to TE Connectivity's for product search optimization, faceted search capabilities and business intelligence solutions.
- Individual will have the opportunity to build integrated solutions to address Digital Experience, Product Information Management, Product management system (Hybris), Content Management (AEM), Search (Solr), and other related internet offerings.
- Individual will liaison with technical architects and development teams to convert technical strategies and roadmaps into robust world class solutions.
Primary Responsibilities :
- Understand and leverage TE's technology stack of Adobe products (AEM, Analytics. Mobile, Target); eCommerce Solutions (Hybris); and Solr Search Engine and future technologies
- Liaison between TE Digital Architects and developers to translate strategies into robust solutions
- Work with a variety of vendor platforms and custom developed solutions.
- Demonstrate ability to adapt and learn emerging technologies in this space. Challenge self and team to innovate and keep up with market trends.
Competencies & Experience Required/Desired :
Required :
1. Around 5 years of IT experience in Java/J2EE technologies, minimum 2 years in Solr Commerce
2. Strong hands on knowledge in Solr.
3. Strong in Java, Spring, JSON, XML, REST Services, as well as general search engine concepts such as SEO, Web Crawler configuration, Parametric Search, ETL Processes, and Shell Scripting.
4. Good in building Complex pipeline configuration, Content Acquisition Framework, Content Assembler, Solr Presentation API and Assembler APIs
5. Able to perform search tuning exercise and work with the business unit to modify and improve upon existing search interfaces.
6. Configure, manipulate, and extract data from the Solr/Endeca pipeline programmatically using JAVA/ JDBC and available Endeca tools
7. Implement the appropriate Solr index configuration, Experience Manager templates, and Search interfaces using XML and other tools
8. Deployment template usage, Experience in defining Solr system layout for production environments
9. Must be able to communicate effectively to peers, scrum team members, and other IT team developers.
10. Source control processes & tools ( Subversion, code branching) is a plus
11. Technical Agility to quickly adopt emerging trends and support new platforms implementations
12. Excellent organization, verbal / written communication. Must be able to build relationships and communicate technology direction effectively to peers, developers and other IT teams.
13. Must be able to occasionally travel worldwide and flex daily work schedule to allow for time-zone differences for global team communications.
Preferred :
- Hands on Knowledge of eCommerce Platform Hybris or related technology
- Deep Endeca experience
- Good knowledge of Lucidworks
Educational Required/Desired : Bachelors degree in Computer Science, or Engineering OR equivalent experience and knowledge required.
