Telenor Mobile is searching for an Advanced Analytics and Data Science Manager with first-rate analytics experience and a passion for digital business. We are building a data-driven organization, where this position will play a key role in bringing analytics and data science to the heart of our core operations.
As part of the team in Analytics & CLM (Customer Lifetime Management) you will work with some of the best data scientists in Norway and Telenor Group. With us, you will mine terabytes of data every day. You will run experiments, visualize data and create increasingly sophisticated models to inform data-driven decisions. Sitting at the intersection of all our data, you will have a unique position to create business value.
Our team
The position is organized in the Analytics & CLM unit, responsible for building and deepening a holistic view of Telenor Mobiles customers. We are applying insights, using data and analytics, to drive growth via personalized communication and optimized experiences that fits the customer lifecycle.
The Analytics team enables Telenor Mobile to turn data into action. Using big data platforms, data warehousing and business intelligence technology, advanced analytics, data science, visualization, and self-service analytics, our team supports company efforts to increase revenue, drive subscription growth and enhance consumer engagement.
What you need to succeed
* You are keen to support Telenor Mobile in improving market and sales performance and increased customer experience
* You have an interest in, and understanding of, business requirements and enjoy partnering up with both business managers, data and technology teams to drive knowledge from data into action
* You can transform, cleanse and mine large-scale, complex data sets, visualize them into relevant and useful insights, and present the findings in a compelling story
* You can develop, validate and operationalize advanced analytical algorithms (predictive and prescriptive); including implementation on large scale systems
* You have an understanding of how to design evaluation metrics and innovative experiments that can measure and optimize our campaigns/activities
* You have strong communication skills, and are able to make data science techniques approachable and understandable to non-data scientists
* You are thorough, inquisitive and passionate. You are keen to learn and strive to find new and promising areas for future analyses and the corresponding data requirements
Qualifications
* Masters or PhD degree in a quantitative field (statistics, computer science, etc.)
* Industry experience with proven business impact, 2+ years as technical data science expert. A strong inner drive and willingness to learn may compensate for lack of experience
* Expertise in applying statistics or machine learning in a professional or other intensive problem-solving environment with large, complex datasets
* Experience with hypothesis testing, clustering, regression & classification, time series analysis, social network analysis, optimization and/or text analysis
* Experience in statistical programming languages such as SAS, Matlab, R, Python or equivalent
* Expertise in developing, validating and executing algorithms and models on large scale systems
* Experience with cleansing and preparing large, complex datasets for analysis
* Familiarity with data visualization applications, like SAS VA, Tableau or RShiny
* Experience with using big data tools (e.g. Hadoop, Spark, Kafka or commercial implementations of these) is an advantage
* Domain expertise in CLM/CRM/Sales and marketing optimization/design is an advantage, but not a requirement
* Fluency in a Scandinavian language is an advantage, but not an absolute requirement
