Overall purpose of role
The Agile Business Systems Analysis collects requirements sufficient to provide to the Scrum Team to complete development work to meet project requirements
- Collect Requirements from the Business, Project Manager and Product Owner
- Provide requirements to the Scrum Team in a format the team can follow and produce a product
Key Accountabilities
The BSA is responsible for ensuring all requirements are captured, dependencies are identified and priority and sequence of work is communicated to the team.
- Design documents are prepared at a project level
- Business Outcomes are clearly identified and recorded for each Feature
- User Stories are created and consistent with Agile Story format
- Detail of the Agile User Stories must meet the needs of the Agile Scrum Team in order for them to complete development to the Product Owner expectations
Stakeholder Management and Leadership
The BSA is expected to most closely coordinate with the Product Owner in order to manage project priority. Business requirements will be gathered from project management and Business stakeholders. Technical architecture will be provided by Technical Leadership, with whom the BSA will gather technical requirements that fulfil the business need.
The BSA is expected to develop and foster positive relationships with the Scrum Team as well as the supported Product Owner and relevant Business contacts.
Decision-making and Problem Solving
The BSA is expected to be familiar enough with the team's development capabilities. As they become familiar with the Application, the BSA should be able to identify dependencies and what requirements the team needs in order to fulfil the Business Ask. The BSA should be able to work with the Technical Leads and Business Representatives in order to form a solution that meets project requirements. The BSA needs to understand the Legal and Compliance framework in order to ensure projects solutions fall within those guidelines.
Risk and Control Objective
Ensure that all activities and duties are carried out in full compliance with regulatory requirements, Enterprise Wide Risk Management Framework and internal Barclays Policies and Policy Standards.
Person Specification
Essential Skills/Basic Qualifications:
- 2+ Years experience as Business Analyst or similar Project Management experience
- 1+ Years experience in an Agile environment
Desirable skills/Preferred Qualifications:
- Microsoft Office Products (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)
- Bachelor Degree, preferably a major in Finance or Technology
- Preferred Agile or Project Management Certification (CSM, CSP, ACP, PMP, etc)
- Preferred experience with credit card banking
- Preferred experience with Agile Project Management Tool (Rally, Gira, VersionOne, etc)
