Our product testing involves a mix of manual and automated testing. A successful candidate will be expected to balance all aspects of testing, including planning, execution, executive reporting and automated testing. Responsibilities:



  • Perform all aspects of verification, including functional testing, regression testing, performance testing

  • Work with development teams to gain understanding of business requirement to test new functionality of our products

  • Analyze test results, open defects and retest bug fixes

  • Development, execution, maintenance and documentation of automated test

  • Integrate automated test suites into our continuous integration framework

  • Troubleshoot test environments, analyze problems and determine best course of action




Required Technical and Professional Expertise

· Bachelor degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent


· Good knowledge of web service technologies (REST)


· Good understanding of relational databases and able to write simple SQL queries


· Confident programming in Python and eager to learn new languages as need arises


· Previous experience with automation testing tools and frameworks, such as JUnit, Jenkins


· Solid understanding of Object Oriented Design


· Basic fluency using Shell and batch scripting


· Experience working in an Agile environmen

Your new role

DevOps Engineer: Cloud, Containerization at Aperio Group, LLC (Sausalito, CA)

For everything that Aperio does, we use custom-developed software. Therefore, software is the bloodstream of our company. Decisions that we make on a daily basis are automated and data driven, requiring minimal human intervention. We are looking for a DevOps engineer that can help us automate configuration and maintain concurrent environments, facilitate utilization of cloud platforms and help us scale as the company grows. The role is open for a senior-level, hands on engineer who wants to become a part of an amazing team.

What You Will Be Doing



  • Establish build, release and configuration management of production systems

  • Automate deployment, monitoring, maintenance and management of production software on premise and in cloud environments

  • Maintain segregated environment across projects and phases of development (dev, staging, qa, prod)

  • Take ownership of release process across environments

  • Facilitate change propagation across environments

  • Establish and enforce change management procedures for each project/environment

  • Maintain documentation describing topology of the whole development ecosystem

  • Serve as the 1st line of defense when production issues occur and assist the help desk in triage of issues


 Your Preferred Profile



  • You did all of the above (among other things) for at least 5 years in an enterprise environment

  • (A lot of) experience with at least one modern cloud ecosystem (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud, etc.)

  • You think containerization/virtualization is better than sliced bread and you worked with at least one platform (Docker, Vagrant, etc.)

  • Experience with provisioning tools used for automated deployment (Puppet, Ansible, etc.)

  • Experience with build tools used in continuous integration environments (Jenking, Circle CI, Travis, etc.)

  • Deep knowledge of security best practices


Bonus Points for This Role



  • BS or higher degree in a discipline that teaches data structures, flow control, and relational databases

  • Experience setting up and maintaining continuous integration environments where feature tracking, source control, build/deploy and testing environments are connected and part of automated process

  • Experience in the financial services or investment management sector

  • Experience with source control (e.g. Git, SVN) and working with data-handling using AJAX, JSON, and REST API

  • Github account with a Portfolio for demonstration and review

  • 2+ years with experience in the development of the Front-End React and React Native applications

  • Experience with other JavaScript technologies including Angular

  • Experience building and deploying solutions to cloud infrastructure including AWS
