The Migration Specialist will be responsible for the implementation of data migrations from Legacy Systems to Amdocs solutions and products, as well as for data migrations in the context of Amdocs product version upgrades. In this role you will work closely with the Amdocs project deployment, configuration and test teams, as well as with Customers and Integrators in order to define the end to end process, strategy and plan to confidently migrate Customer’s data to the Amdocs solution.

What will your job look like?



  • You will define and document the overall project migration strategy.

  • You will perform entity and field level mapping from Legacy systems to Amdocs system, and prepare the detailed field-to-field mapping documents as well as a detailed concept for data conversion

  • You will configure and unit test the Amdocs migration tools.

  • You will develop miscellaneous migration scripts/tools as required.

  • You will prepare method of procedure and detailed activity check list for the migration execution.

  • You will plan CatchUp phases/concept to minimize Business Impact during migration downtimes

  • You will perform migration dry runs and cutover migration according to method of procedure.

  • You will execute Quality Assurance and Risk Management Strategy

  • You will work on the development/maintenance/documentation of Amdocs standard tools and methodologies for migration implementations.



All you need is...



  • 5+ years hands on working with Linux, UNIX, Oracle.

  • Excellent understanding of complex RDBMS systems.

  • Excellent knowledge required with scripting, SQLPlus, PL/SQL.

  • Strong BSS/OSS technical background and understanding

  • BSS transformation project experience is a plus

  • Analytical and goal oriented

  • Capable of working on tight timelines

  • Fluent communication in English and if you know Russian, that would be a bonus

  • Experience in Amdocs C1 / Kenan Telecom Billing System (Billing systems integration, development and implementation for medium to big telecom/ISP operator) is a plus.

  • Working knowledge on Migration tools (LCU / VUU or K2View) is mandatory (with at least 3 years’ experience in designing/developing using these tools)

  • Must have the ability to turn high level requirements into Technical, Functional & Operational Specifications. Should have the ability to understand and challenge functional / technical solution specifications and programs that need delivery alignment.

  • Must be able to work independently.

  • Extensive experience in development, including work in Agile development environments.

  • Progressive experience in delivering and/or supporting complex software solutions and service/ product implementations.

  • Experience and knowledge of telco networks, platforms, standards and business processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree (4 year program) in Computer Science, Engineering or equivalent

We work very closely with business stakeholders to deliver fit for purpose applications that deliver business improvements and efficiencies.  We are at the heart of the evolving technology strategy as ITV expands and explores new ideas. We are the ITV Leeds technology team.



TV is changing and ITV is too. The future is a mixture of On-Demand and Linear content delivery across multiple platforms, working with a growing ITV Studios content production portfolio, external collaborations, and new business models.


We are seeking a Principal Software Engineer to join our ATS Technology department to provide Technical Leadership in Leeds.


What


Much of what we do is around automating previously manual processes or removing legacy systems to enable ITV data to flow effectively,  Which means we tackle hard architectural issues, such as remodeling our rights system and building new products such as Gateway.


 Gateway is ITV’s inbound content tracking application, which ensures we know what deliverables are due in from Producers, where they’re due to be delivered and when so that our content gets to the correct destination on time.  This is a new product built in-house that integrates with internal and external parties, and we collaborate closely with stakeholders to ensure we have a fit for purpose product.


Technology we use
At present RCSS Technology systems are Java 8 backend with Angular frontend, and we tend to use Spring Boot.  We have recently opted as a team to train in Kotlin which we are currently trying out on some new microservices.  The selection of technology for new systems is open for discussion and your team's suggestions; as Principle, you will also be responsible for reviewing and promoting good choices.


Our CI pipelines tend to use Jenkins, Github, Terraform and Puppet on AWS.  However, this is a rapidly evolving area and we have support from our central Platform Engineering team to help keep us moving in a good direction. ITV is committed to doing things right in regards to best practices and architectural principles, and are always looking at how we can do things better. We use Google products for email and document sharing, and Apple hardware for development.


Principal Level Software Engineer


As the Principal engineer of RCSS Technology you will be responsible for leading the team’s engineers in the right direction from both a technology and business perspective.  You will be skilled at making appropriate trade-offs between delivery and technical strategy and in communicating those tradeoffs to stakeholders and engineers.



  • You will be hands on as much as possible but the delivery of products will be lead by individual teams; your role is to help them along.  You will be involved in building proof of concepts and validating new technologies, often being the spearhead in new areas.

  • You will be able to break down, simplify and explain complicated technical subjects so that non technical people can understand them deeply enough to make appropriate decisions which influence the team’s work.

  • You will review code and testing strategies, and most importantly you’ll be a driving force in setting the quality bar of the department.

  • You will have experience leading multiple small cross-functional teams at once.  You will be a seasoned ‘Agile’ practitioner, able to identify changes that might be needed to make a team work more effectively.  Although you will have a passion for improvement, you will understand that change takes time and seldom works when driven purely from the top.

  • You will develop architectures in collaboration with engineers and Enterprise Architects, and facilitate pragmatic solutions.  This will involve working across legacy systems, 3rd party products, and in-house developed systems.

  • You will work closely with Product Owners and the Head of Department to understand and shape product roadmaps, inform technical analysis, collect requirements and propose technical solutions.

  • You will be the most senior technical person in the department and you will be responsible and trusted to nurture a unique tech culture for the Leeds technology hub.

  • You will be expected to identify skill and resource gaps in the department and figure out both short and long-term solutions for them.

  • You will be experienced with recruiting and growing a high performing team culture.

  • You will have DevOps and Cloud technology experience and a firm understanding of what is needed to deliver a robust production system.

  • You will keep an eye on useful innovations and developments in relevant technology spaces, and foster the same mentality in the people you work with.  You’ll keep an open mind, but bear in mind your real goals and avoid technology adoption for its own sake.

  • You will mentor and line manage engineers to ensure they develop their skills and are productive team members.

Op ons nieuwe private cloud platform (Toeslagen.Ne(X)t) met moderne private cloud technieken binnen één van de grootste en complexe Microsoft omgevingen van Nederland, worden binnenkort de applicaties en databases gehost waarmee de verwerking van alle Toeslagen wordt gedaan. De Toeslagen applicaties verwerken iedere maand de toeslagen voor 6 miljoen burgers. Het is een platform waar veel burgers in Nederland in belangrijke mate (in)direct van afhankelijk zijn en het is dus zaak om het nieuwe platform optimaal te laten functioneren.

Het Toeslagen.Ne(X)t platform is een echte Infrastructure as a Service (Iaas) cloud met alle kenmerken die daarbij horen. Het platform is gebouwd op een converged infrastructure van HP en volledig gebaseerd op Microsoft technologie. Specifiek voor de automatisering wordt gebruik gemaakt van PowerShell, Pester, SMA, DSC, BitBucket, Visual Studio (development tools).

In jouw rol als senior system engineer private cloud operations ben je als lid van een DevOps-team verantwoordelijk voor de exploitatie én onderhoud/voortbrenging van de infraproducten van dit platform. Jouw hoofdtaak bestaat uit exploitatiewerkzaamheden t.b.v. het nieuwe platform. Je handelt incidenten en problemen af en je voert proactief beheer uit. Jouw taken zijn o.a. de uitvoering van daily operations, monitoring van het platform (en optimalisering), en het beschikbaarheids- en capaciteitsbeheer. Je beschrijft, onderhoudt en automatiseert beheerprocessen en werkinstructies en voert update management uit. Ook kan je worden ingezet voor het vernieuwen, onderhouden en configureren van de platformcomponenten en de daarbij behorende tooling en je zorgt ervoor dat deze beheersbaar blijven.

Als system engineer krijg je alle ruimte om je te verdiepen in vernieuwende technieken en denk je proactief mee over verbeteringen. Je neemt daarin jouw collegas mee en je coacht hen in hun ontwikkeling. Zo draag je bij aan de kwaliteit van de werkzaamheden en de ontwikkeling van jouw team. Je bent van begin tot eind betrokken bij de projecten waar je aan werkt en je ziet het resultaat van je inzet. Én je werkt - op basis van Scrum en DevOps - nauw samen met de applicatieontwikkel- en beheerteams. Dus.

  • Je hebt liefst een hbo-diploma in de (technische) informatica óf je beschikt aantoonbaar over hbo-werk- en denkniveau.

  • Je hebt minimaal 3 jaar ervaring in een soortgelijke functie.

  • Je hebt kennis van van ITIL processen (of vergelijkbare modellen).

  • Je hebt kennis van en ervaring met van System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) en Virtual Machine Manager (VMM); met PowerShell op het gebied van deployment automation en het automatiseren van beheerprocessen.

What you'll do:




  • Help build the rich user interface that hundreds of global client teams work with every day

  • Create engaging data visualisations and tools for our clients, planning, and structuring great UX across the platform

  • Act as a sparring partner to various members of the team

  • Constantly share and debate best practices with your peers



What you have:




  • At least 5+ years in a similar role

  • Expert knowledge of JavaScript, HTML and CSS

  • Knowledge of front end frameworks such as AngularJS, and libraries such as Polymer

  • Experience with visualisation libraries, such as Highcharts or similar

  • Familiarity with the whole web stack

  • Excellent communication & teamwork skills

  • Adaptable, resourceful and able to share your knowledge with the rest of the team

  • Experience building and debugging complex systems in a team environment

  • Practical experience with Typescript would be desirable, though not required

  • Experience with unidirectional dataflows, e.g. by utilising a flux pattern would be also advantageous, though not necessary
