Purpose :
Works as a member of a team comprising of automation and test engineers charged with designing, creating, executing and maintaining a suite of automated test cases designed to verify the functionality of Aclara's proprietary software solutions like AclaraONE- and SMS.
Essential Functions :
- Become familiar with the software under test and gain product knowledge.
- Design, estimate and execute automated tests to verify requirements in Aclara software products
- Work with Senior Test Engineers and Automation Engineers to design new test cases.
- Assist with the design and configuration of test environments.
- Generate and maintain metrics to measure the effectiveness of the test process.
Knowledge/Skills/Abilities :
a) Required :
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering or related discipline.
- Overall QA experience around 1-3 years as automation engineer using selenium
- Good programming skills in any of the programming languages (C, C++, Java, etc.)
- Strong knowledge of OOPS concepts is a must.
- Good Analytical skills in inspecting web applications, for UI controls and ways to handle/interact with them, using Javascript, JQuery, XPath and CSS.
- Understanding of agile, iterative SDLC (e.g., Agile, SCRUM, etc.) environment is preferred.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work with Minimal Supervision
b) Good to have:
- Hands-on, using BDD, to write tests.
- Prior experience with Ruby, Cucumber or similar test scripting language.
- Prior experience in AMI domain.
