Every year billions of dollars flow through the Canadian Real Estate Investment Market, and surprisingly most of these transactions are occurring without the support of technology. At Altrio we are building real estate investment software designed to help our clients invest faster, smarter, and more confidently. Founded by two successful entrepreneurs, Altrios product Origin has found product market fit, supporting clients like QuadReal Property Group. Altrio has just completed its seed round of financing and is looking for Sr. Full-Stack Software Developer talent to further build our product and help grow its presence in the market.
What you will do:
- Full cycle feature development; reporting to the CTO and being one of the founding members of our development team, you will be building out our product and its features everyday. As a lean start-up, this means youll be responsible for architecture decisions (which youll make alone and with the group, depending on the feature), UX/UI intelligence, writing code and ensuring quality assurance for what were building. We have a relatively large platform and every day major progress is made in meeting our goals. You will be shipping features regularly and working to ensure all aspects of the product are bug-free and meeting our clients needs.
- Collect and integrate feedback; you will work with the product through all stages of the lifecycle including post-feature launch. You will collect feedback through a variety of channels and apply a continuous improvement lens to your work and the particular parts of the product you are responsible for. You will use this feedback to not only improve what has already been built but to work smarter in the future as well.
- Apply business needs to decision making; you will need to quickly understand who our product is serving and what their business needs are. In order to be successful building out our platform and its features, you will need a solid understanding of the business problem we are trying to solve. This role doesnt build in isolation, in fact we expect you to be very integrated into many aspects of business operations that software developers dont always get access to.
- Take leaps and make decisions; everyday the information we have changes and gets better; in this role you will need to be unafraid to act and move your work forward. Our CTO and other developer(s) are always there for support but you have to feel comfortable recommending and implementing solutions on your own. In order to keep up with the demand for our product, everyone on the development team at this stage requires a maturity in decision-making that allows them to move forward if they feel stuck.

- A holistic thinker who understands business and client needs; in a small team like ours, we need people who can cover all the bases. You are able to think about how one decision you make affects the bigger picture and what consequences it will cause. You are able to learn and understand our business and clients and can integrate them into the products and features you are building.
- Someone familiar with our tech stack; you are someone who has experience building in Ruby and/or React. If you dont, you have proven yourself to be a very fast learner capable of building at a start-up pace while being an incredible team player.
- Fast-thinker, focused on growth; you thrive in environments that are continuously seeking out ways to be better. You dont get bothered when things change as long as they are based on improvement. You notice what needs to change and propose solutions, you actively seek out feedback and help when you dont know an answer and are willing to help your teammates find solutions.
