About us:
Our mission is to keep people safe where they live, work and play through better information, smarter decisions and faster responses. We do this with a spatial intelligence platform that provides continuous visibility, assessment and predictions of where people are, where they are going, and what they are doing—in a way that reveals security and operations problems early but still preserves the privacy of individuals.
We’re a small team of smart passionate people with deep backgrounds in data science, cybersecurity, and public safety—and a commitment to making a real difference through the products we're creating and the company we’re building.
About you:
You love writing code that makes a difference in the world around you. Software development isn't just what you do for a living, it is also a hobby, and you love automation. You enjoy working on things that are new, difficult, meaningful, and a bit crazy. You look forward to having an outsized impact on our business and on our customers. You’ll help determine the right thing to do, and we’ll support you doing the right thing, all in a fast-paced, collaborative and transparent environment.
You have a Bachelor's degree in CS or a related field, and at least three years relevant experience working in a production software development team writing code. You are also fluent in at least two languages like Python, Scala or Java, and are experienced with stream processing, data pipelines and distributed systems.
Bonus points if you are familiar with functional programming, data engineering, streaming analytics, service meshing, and architectural patterns like reactive systems, microservices, Kappa and Lambda.
About the role:
We have opportunities in backend development and data engineering. Data engineering roles focus on developing software and services to handle interfacing, ingest, feature extraction and edge analytics of sensor and cloud data, while the backend roles focus more on data availability, machine learning pipelines, distributed processing, and simulation.
Both roles collaborate on data fusion and modeling to predict occupancy, flow and patterns of life, and work on software and services supporting our scalable spatial intelligence platform and distributed hybrid cloud architecture. You’ll work across the spectrum of development including research, design, and implementation and support. You will also have the opportunity to grow and contribute to other areas of product development.
Please note: We are unable to provide visa sponsorship at this time.
