The Role
We need help with site infrastructure and operations, ensuring everything runs gracefully, has capacity for growth, and enables developers to move fast. Success requires an extensive understanding of a wide range of technologies, an attention to growing and developing the skills and talents of our team, and a healthy drive to focus on key initiatives with effective prioritization.
Responsibilities
Work with the product development team on all the applications and services that support our products, including front-end, back-end, developer environments, and all the infrastructure between.
Understand and document technical architectures, capacity plans, tooling needs, automation plans, product launch plans, and other issues
Balance the need to "keep things running" with allocating time to long-term, high-impact projects.
Requirements
- BS or MS in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience
- At least 3 years of operations or development experience in a technology company
- Sound knowledge of large-scale internet service architectures and cloud computing fundamentals
- Ability to code well in at least one language. Python and Javascript are in heavy use here
- Ability to rapidly learn new software languages, frameworks, and APIs
- Sharp and tenacious troubleshooting skills: you can fix anything
- Familiarity with common DevOps applications
- Good verbal and written communications skills
- Detail oriented and careful
