The Academic Resource Center (ARC) Infrastructure team is looking for a talented individual who will help with system configuration and development, database development, process automation, and website development and maintenance. Consult with and engage in joint problem solving with other senior staff regarding the effectiveness of processes and systems. Resolves routine programming problems. Works on issues and projects of limited scope. Follows standard programming procedures to analyze situations and data from which answers can be readily obtained.
Provide assistance with on-going analyses of system and website design, functionality and capability; recommend system enhancements. Help manage information in internal databases ensuring data integrity, consistency, and effectiveness. Assist with responses to data requests via understanding and utilization of various relational databases. Help develop standard reports and queries to assist staff in monitoring unit processes. Under direct supervision applies professional software concepts and department/unit and campus, medical center or Office of the President policies and procedures to small projects or portions of projects.
Key Responsibilities
1) Partner and work collaboratively with project teams and business stakeholders to gain an understanding of business requirements, translate and document those requirements into solution recommendations, and work with the development team on projects throughout the software development lifecycle.
2) Recommend process improvements through more effective use of the ServiceNow system and other CRMs.
3) Manage cross platform network communications, computer systems analysis, debugging methods, and current techniques for troubleshooting applications and system problems.
4) Partner with internal stakeholders to help drive adoption and maximize the value of ServiceNow.
5) Document project plans, scoping documents, programming languages/scripts, and change log to existing features.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

A Bachelor's Degree in related area; and/or equivalent experience/training.

Knowledge of standard programming techniques and conventions including structured programming, object oriented programming and documentation.

Knowledge of scripting/programming languages such as Java, SQL, HTML, JavaScript, XML, PHP, Dreamweaver, ASP, etc

Experience with managing cross platform network communications, computer systems analysis, debugging methods, and current techniques for troubleshooting applications and system problems.

Working knowledge of graphics/display systems, data structures, memory management, file systems, and database management techniques.

Knowledge relating to the design development, modification and implementation of software including object-oriented programming concepts.

Demonstrated ability to evaluate current processes, identify process bottlenecks and opportunities for streamlining in conjunction with existing or new technological solutions.

Experience in project management including ability to plan, organize, prioritize and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Effective communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate technical information to technical and non-technical personnel at various levels in the organization.

Self-motivated and works independently and as part of a team. Able to learn effectively and meet deadlines. Ability to maintain high level of confidentiality in handling files and data.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Experience with Service Now development and administration.
- Experience working with academic personnel.
