Senior AWS Engineer

Position summary:
This Organization provides the software used by major media companies to produce and deliver video to your screen.
We are looking for a Sr. AWS Engineer to help us architect and script (infrastructure as code) our AWS infrastructure for new features for existing and future products. This company builds systems for broadcast TV including News production systems and Master control. Most of the work involves manipulation of video files, streaming video, recording/playout of video to SDI, and integration with 3rd party systems.
The technical requirements of the job include experience architecting and deploying cloud based solutions in AWS. Were looking for a team player who has excellent development skills, high programming productivity, and who is interested in learning about Linear on Demand streaming video, TV, news, master control, etc.
The projects run using SCRUM and we operate in relatively stable teams. We have some legacy software that must be maintained, but are ramping up a major new software development effort.
Education:
- BA/BS in Computer Science or equivalent work experience
- 4+ years managing cloud-based network infrastructures
Requirements:
- Expertise in writing Cloud Formation scripts
- Expertise in architecting secure cloud solutions within AWS
- Experience using AWS database solutions such as RDS with Postgres
- Experience using AWS NoSQL solutions such as DynamoDB
- Experience building High Availability/Fault Tolerant Systems
- Expertise in AWS IAM Security models
- Experience using AWS Clustering (EC2, ECS, Fargate Services, ECR)
- Experience using Docker containers
- Experience with Nginx, Redis, SQS on Linux platforms within AWS
- Experience working in an Agile SCRUM environment
Additional Skills:
- Experience with Node.js development
- Experience with TypeScript Development
- Experience with HLS video streaming
- Experience with continuous integration and continuous deployment using tools such as Bamboo, Jenkins, and Octopus Deploy
- Experience with RabbitMQ messaging
- DevOps experience monitoring and supporting SaaS based systems
- Experience with video codecs such as MainConcept or Matrox codecs
- Experience with Elastic Search
Currently Using the Following Technologies
- Environments: Go Programming Language (golang), Node.js, Docker
- Cloud Technology: AWS Fargate, ECS, Lambda, and ECR Services
- Database Technologies: Postgres, Redis, DynamoDB, Elastic Search
