Staff WiFi Systems Engineer at ATR International (San Diego, CA)

Job Overview:

  • This position is for an WLAN System engineer with good understanding of IEEE 802.11 Physical layer and MAC layer protocols and hands on experience working on Performance and validation of WLAN and Cellular Wireless (3GPP) Systems. 
  • We are looking for highly motivated individual who is excited by the prospect of working on innovative technologies, has high willingness to learn new things and is flexible to travel.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A good academic background in the areas of wireless communications and signal processing
  • Expertise in theory of OFDM, SU and MU MIMO, Beam-forming concepts, Rate adaptation, etc. and other MAC & PHY implementations.
  • Detailed knowledge of 802.11(a/b/g/n/ac) Architecture, Protocol and Specification corresponding to the MAC and PHY is a must.
  • Good RF Knowledge and System Level understanding of the Wireless Access Point and Client functionality is a must.
  • Familiar with WLAN device testing and use-cases/KPIs is an added advantage.
  • Good understanding of cellular technologies like 4G LTE and 5G NR is an added advantage.
  • Ability to work closely with Systems and SW/FW Teams on analyzing, debugging and getting the WLAN performance to meet the KPIs.
  • Experience with C, C++ and Matlab and scripting languages like Perl or Python is preferred.
  • Excellent Oral and Written Communication/Presentation skills required.
  • Must have 8-12 years of combined experience with the above skills

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience using Qualcomm tools like QXDM, QPST.
  • Familiar with WLAN device testing

Education:

  • Required: Bachelor's, Electrical Engineering and/or Computer Networks & Systems and/or Computer Science and/or Electrical Engineering and/or Electronics & Satellites Enger Science
