We are currently looking for a senior Cassandra and MongoDB Database Administrator to join a Cloud Infrastructure team that provides Cassandra DBA experience in managing critical 24/7 applications hosted primarily on AWS environment as well as providing assistance in the proper modeling and design of schemas to operate efficiently at scale. The engineer will be responsible for assisting with the design, implementation, and on-going support of Cassandra, MongoDB operations. The engineer will work closely with the development and operations teams to provide support where necessary.
Basic Qualifications
- Minimum of 3 years of experience as a Cassandra DBA
- Minimum of 3 years of experience within Systems Engineering
- Minimum of 3 years of experience working with Cloud infrastructure technologies
- Familiar with concept of micro-services architecture
- Bachelor’s degree (BA/BS) from four-year college or university; or equivalent training, education, and experience
Additional Job Requirements
- Experience working with Unix and Linux operating systems; specifically troubleshooting and providing administration
- A deep understanding of Cassandra design principals, cluster connectivity, security and the factors that affect distributed system performance
- Setup Nodes, Work on foundations, data models
- Implement a Cassandra Database in an enterprise, Design and Support data migration
- Cassandra database administration on a multi-datacenter cluster
- Must have experience in monitoring, performance tuning and managing Cassandra cluster
- Strong understanding of complex inner workings of Cassandra, such as the gossip protocol, hinted handoffs, read repairs and etc.
- In depth knowledge of architecting and creating Cassandra/no SQL database systems
- Working understanding of MongoDB
- Proficient in scripting and one or more programming languages (Python, Ruby, Perl, PowerShell, Bash)
- Experience providing 'on call' support on a rotating basis to resolve system/application issues after normal business hours
