Senior C# Software Engineer at NEX Regulatory Reporting (Bristol, UK)

We are looking for an accomplished and talented Senior Software Engineer to work in a team of technical software and infrastructure engineers on key financial messaging and analytic systems. You will have substantial proficiency across a broad range of software development and product delivery disciplines, be a smart and motivated team player with a deep understanding of .NET server-side asynchronous development in C# with massive datasets.

• Languages o Fluent in C# and the .NET framework in a server-side environment o Deep understanding of Object Oriented Programming and design patterns o Helpful to have knowledge of Java and the core Java ecosystem o Helpful to have experience of Python

• Frameworks o Extensive real-world experience of SQL Server, ideally with massive datasets o Good working knowledge of NoSQL databases, especially DynamoDB o Ideally have experience of other SQL databases, especially PostgreSQL o Ideally experience of Akka.NET and an understanding of reactive programming o Helpful to have experience of Kafka and Redis o Helpful to have experience of Web API and REST interface design o Ideally experience of .NET Core, especially the porting of an existing codebase o Helpful to have knowledge of NHibernate

• Technologies o Extensive experience of AWS, including Redshift, S3, Kinesis, DynamoDB and EC2 o Real-world experience of Windows Server, with a focus on service development o Helpful to have experience with Linux/UNIX, especially within EC2 environments o Familiarity with virtualization and container technologies such as Docker o Useful to have experience of gRPC

• Methodologies o Helpful to have experience with continuous Integration and Deployment and DevOps principles, including use of tools such as TeamCity, Octopus and Chef o Understanding of testing methodologies and strategies
