Purpose:
To support a new Research and Development team here at CardinalCommerce with the intent of improving the current technologies, processes and products along with developing innovations that strengthen our position in the marketplace. You will be joining our team to address broad issues related to technology performance, with a view that impacts the entire company. Some of the upcoming projects we have are related to blockchains and cyber security. We are seeking out passionate, positive, self-motivated individuals with high levels of enthusiasm and willingness to learn.
You will use in-house software and components to integrate with the rest of the ecosystem, and propose new tools to enhance our own processes. As your knowledge and experience evolve, so will your responsibilities.
Essential Functions:
• Responsible for trying several new technologies and evaluating pros and cons
• Analyze product requirements or new features and determine the development tasks and estimated effort for the implementation
• Work with senior engineers to implement a product requirement or new product feature
• Work independently with minimal supervision on routine activities and receive guidance on unusual/complex issues and approval on plans and larger-scale designs
• Investigate new software technologies and tools

Skills/ Knowledge/ Experience:
Required:
At least 2 years completed within an accredited university; Preferred Field(s) of Study: Computer Engineering, Computer and Information Technologies, Cyber Security, Computer Science, MIS, Mathematics, Physics, Philosophy with emphasis in logic, etc.
Preferred:
• 1 year + experience with Java development
• Strong logic skills
• Strong written skills
• Strong developer aptitude
• Strong abstraction and generalization skills
• Continual study of a subject to increase depth of understanding
