We are seeking an Engineering Manager to join our team in Brooklyn to help deliver on the above goals. In this role, you will wear two “hats.” You will play the role of people manager and will supervise 6 - 10 software engineers to ensure their career success at Prolific. You’ll support the department development by hiring the right people and putting them in the right position at the right time. In addition to managing engineers, you will utilize your engineering expertise to impact Prolific’s growth by collaborating with other department leads and our partners to build trusting relationships and deliver great products. This includes engaging on product development work, ranging from mobile product development to strategic consulting.
Responsibilities: Your Prolific Impact
Career Management
- Own 6-month goals and help develop our engineers’ careers
- Help assign our engineers to projects tailored to their skill levels, personalities, work styles, and professional goals
- Provide continuous feedback, address performance issues and guide the professional and technical development of our engineers
Product development
- Build teams that are collaborative, inclusive, and respectful of each other
- Create plans for prioritizing technical and resourcing challenges for your teams
- Instill a spirit of continuous improvement in the team’s code, architecture, and processes
Department advancement
- Work closely with our recruiting team to hire high potential candidates from diverse backgrounds
- Collaborate with your engineers and/or product managers to manage and execute against project plans and delivery commitments
- Help your team build relationships across functions such as Design, Product, Operations, and New Business to ensure Prolific’s continuing success
