Our client is working hard to improve and modernize their data strategy. They have a large number of transactional systems generating data about their products, locations, customers, and financial transactions. These systems support hundreds of lines of business. Theyre asking for help migrating their data platform to AWS by reimplementing data strategy and creating a new set of data services to enhance their ability to insulate downstream systems and services from changes to data stores.

Were seeking a Lead Cloud Architect to provide leadership for our clients development team. This role will leverage skills in service-oriented and microservice architectures, especially related to data integration, to define and implement APIs and API-related infrastructures, such as service brokers, proxies, gateways, routing, security, monitoring, and consumption controls. In addition to knowledge of the technologies above, the candidate should be familiar with Agile practices and have knowledge of at least one major Cloud platform.

Responsibilities:

• Actively participate in scoping developer needs with accurate timelines, sprints, risk assessments.
• Work with the Senior Solution Architect to turn requirements into reality
• Act as a break-fix leader
• Design and/or collaborate with other senior technical staff in the design and integration of services
• Prototype API implementations
• Document API designs for integrators and developers
• Design and/or implement designs for API-related components such as service mesh, brokers, proxies, gateways, routing, security, monitoring, partner onboarding, quotas, authentication, and authorization, etc.

Required Experience/Qualifications:

• Proven experience implementing APIs on multiple projects/products
• Experience with APIs, AWS, MongoDB, Kubernetes, and Kafka
• Integration experience
• Bachelor's degree in computer science or related field required
• Expertise in API design and development
• Comfortable with REST APIs and enterprise integration
• Some knowledge of one of the major Cloud platforms (Azure, Google, or AWS)
• Good understanding of design-based thinking
• Highly proactive and able to work without supervision
• The flexibility to deal with ambiguity and respond quickly
• Experience with Github
• Knowledge of Agile development practices
• Knowledge of Web-based API patterns, API security, API documentation practices, and API implementation in at least one technology framework
• Experience consuming and diagnosing issues with APIs
