The Role
We are seeking a Cloud Architect with experience in performance analysis to perform end-to-end performance analysis to influence system designs. You will be working with a highly motivated team of world class performance experts and software, firmware, and hardware engineers. Many Fortune 500 organizations use this technology to drive their businesses.

You will have the opportunity to design performance experiments, collect and analyze data, model designs using the latest Agile methodologies, and contribute to the design of products.
This candidate is expected to have previous experience in designing, deploying, and managing a public cloud. The candidate should understand the criteria cloud consumers use in evaluating their choice of cloud provider. The candidate should also have experience in architecture decision making for cloud networking, storage, and compute. The candidate should be familiar with application design for cloud. The candidate should be active member of one or more cloud communities, be familiar with Linux or Unix based systems, and experience with performance design and tuning. Familiarity with IBM Power based systems and Linux/Unix/AIX performance tools is preferred.
Ability to work in a team, network with people outside of the team and effectively communicate in written and verbal presentations is essential.
*Required Professional and Technical Expertise
In this role, we require:
- 6+ years of public cloud design, deployment, and management
- 3+ years in performance engineering
- Hands-on experience with performance measurement, analysis, and optimization with Cloud workloads
- Understand criteria cloud consumers use in choosing a cloud provider.
- Experience conducting benchmark and/or work-load testing using automation tools and scripting tools for performance measurement and analysis.
- Experience in performing lab experimentation to profile applications and/or isolate performance issues.
- Ability to work cross-functionally to articulate, measure and solve performance issues.
- Passion for continuous improvement in building knowledge base both technically and professionally.
- Minimum Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical discipline or equivalent experience.

- C++, Python, or Java programming skills
- C++, Python or Java performance optimization
- Agile/ Scrum methodology experience
- Knowledge of statistical analysis and experimental design techniques
- Excellent knowledge of Linux operating system
- Experience analyzing and interpreting large volume of production data to understand throughput, latency, memory and CPU utilization
