Senior DevOps Engineer - Monitoring & Observability at Paf - Online Casino With Slots, Bingo, Poker & Betting (Helsinki, Finland)

Would you like to work with the latest cloud technologies? Do you have a self-starter attitude? Do you find monitoring and observability of distributed systems an exciting topic? Do you like to take ownership and drive changes? Are you curious by nature?

We’d like you to join our team where you’ll help define and implement the overall performance, monitoring and observability strategy for our microservices architecture.

ABOUT YOU

You have experience with performance, monitoring and observability of distributed systems. Deploying to production shouldn’t be a pulse-raising adventure. System showing increased error rate or decreased performance after new deployment? No problem, we’ll roll back or forward and investigate the root cause without impact on our customers’ experience. To get there, we need a state of art monitoring and system observability. That’s where you come in.

You love building solutions. It’s important to choose the right tool for the job. Most of the time it means going with a well-tested library, framework or a SaaS. But sometimes those are not enough. You like to get your hands dirty and write code to build custom infrastructure solutions if needed.

You like to work in a team. The impact of monitoring and observability spans across the whole company. You enjoy talking to your colleagues from other teams to learn how you can help them deliver better software.

You love learning. Engineering is an ever-evolving world. You enjoy playing with new tech and exploring areas that you might not have experience with yet.

You are familiar with back-end and front-end technologies. This is not a full-stack developer role but having experience with Java Spring Boot, AngularJS, Vue.js or similar frameworks is definitely a plus.

You have worked in a cloud environment. At Paf, we are in the process of migrating to the cloud so you’ll get to work with AWS, Docker and microservices on a daily basis.

You like to set your own goals and direction. You don’t sit back and wait for the tasks to be assigned to you. You take initiative, take ownership of the topics that interest you and lead the way forward.

You are familiar with the concept of chaos engineering and you have a vision on how to implement it in distributed systems architecture.

You are friendly and respectful and you approach challenges with a positive attitude.

THINGS YOU MIGHT DO AT PAF

At Paf you’ll have freedom to choose to work on the areas that interest you. You’ll get experience on many different projects across the company. That said, we’d like you to start with performance, monitoring and observability. Here are some things you might do at Paf:
