Lead Software Engineer (Java) at EPAM (Shenzhen, China)

Responsibilities



  • Full-cycle web application development using Agile approach:

    • Idea generation and high-level vision creation

    • Solution design and documenting, proposal

    • Development, testing, and Production launch



  • Run customer’s demo and education sessions

  • Be a member of a cross-functional team that experiment with new technology and proactively searches for the best solutions and ideas in the marketplace

  • Coordinate your work with other developers to deliver first-class technology solutions in a positive, fun, yet challenging and deadline driven environment

  • Work closely with other Product and Technology teams, internal and external, to bring technology solutions and perspectives to the product development process

  • Provide input on, follow and evangelize code quality guidelines and standards

  • Participate in code reviews to highlight best of breed solutions

  • Identify/troubleshoot application code-related issues, and review and provide feedback on any required final user documentation


Requirements



  • Excellent knowledge in Java and JavaScript

  • Good knowledge of Java Core

  • Highly experienced in HTML and CSS (responsive layout)

  • Back-end development experience (system design) - ability to create end-to-end systems

  • Building RESTful API services and client integrations

  • Experience in at least one of the modern JS frameworks and Rapid Application development platforms (AngularJS, React/Redux, Node.js, etc.)

  • Excellent English communication skills & experience in client-facing communications (developers communicate with stakeholders directly)

  • Self-management and strong prioritization skills

  • Ability to work in agile environment without direct supervision

  • Think with an agile mindset demonstrate and ability to handle any changes without unnecessary distress.

  • Readiness to ask questions - collect and analyze requirements directly from the client

  • Ability to create necessary documentation (incl. PRD, Test Cases, Design Docs, etc.) without having to wait for a perfectly shaped task

  • Experience in NoSQL databases
