Omron Adept Technologies, the world leader in autonomous intelligent vehicles is hiring a Sr. Embedded SQA Mobile Robots. Work with the innovative team that created the Lynx and LD mobile robots. Help create new products that will change the industry. The ideal candidate will show strong initiative and have experience as a technical lead.
1) Design, implement and maintain embedded software testing framework for our mobile robots.
2) Work with embedded software team to create new tests and integrate existing tests for various firmware and hardware pieces and layers ranging from microcontroller, FPGA, CAN, serial ports, gyroscopes, motors, batteries, lasers, etc.
3) Create test plans and test cases based on specifications
4) Create unit and system tests
5) Create testing rigs (HIL (Hardware in the Loop) testing)
6) Report defects
7) Work with team to ensure test coverage
A successful candidate will be expected to quickly contribute to the automated testing efforts in the Mobile Robot embedded software team and have the ability to solve problems through strong analytical skills and solid debugging techniques. They will report to the Manager, SQA, Mobile Robots and must be capable of working with a distributed software team, with application engineers, technicians, and other teams.
Requirements:
- Experience creating automated tests using C code in a real time embedded environment.
- Familiar with the embedded: compilers, debuggers, IDE and source code control.
- Understanding of software testing fundamentals including; unit, system, smoke, etc.
- Knowledge of software fundamentals including software design, data structures, code modularity and maintainability.
- Passionate about testing to assure our customer's experience.
- Hands on experience with automated testing of hardware and software
- Experience with defect tracking
- Experience as a technical lead
Desired:
- Experience with common embedded protocols: RS232, CANOpen
- Familiarity with robotics or motion control (trajectory generation, kinematics, motor control)
- Experience using Matlab or Python
- Experience using Git (source control)
- Familiar with Object Oriented Programming and Design
- Experience with TCP/IP
- Experience with HIL (Hardware in the Loop) testing
- Familiar with logic analyzers and oscilloscopes
- Familiar with motion capture
- Aptitude for basic wiring, soldering and cable building as needed
- Experience with a testing framework such as Google Test
- Experience with the Linux Operating System
- Experience with laser range finders
Experience:
- Bachelor degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
- Prefer seven (7) years of experience in automated testing of hardware and software
