Position Summary:
Senior Engineer Network performs administration of Cisco network and assists management in planning all aspects of the Companys global network infrastructure, including but not limited to network equipment, servers, and software applications (tools and appliances). This position manages global WAN and Internet connectivity, as well as recommends and implements reliable, durable, and cost-effective solutions. This position also manages network, ISP, and WAN vendors. Senior Engineer IT Network maintains a healthy network with appropriate access, security, availability, performance, capacity, and backups for productivity, efficiency, and business continuity.
Essential Functions and Key Responsibilities:
- Performs a wide range of network administration duties including installations, debugging, maintenance, upgrades, and general support for Cisco, Brocade, Checkpoint and F5 network equipment
- Secures network access to all internal computing systems and oversees access permissions
- Manages administrative rights to network infrastructure
- Installs and configures network hardware and software
- Proactively provisions network services to ensure capacity and performance
- Manages a general-purpose monitoring system used among all IT peers
- Manages network and related security for all cloud providers
- Collaborates management of Checkpoint firewalls with IT Security team
- Implements and manages security solutions including firewall and intrusion detection systems, with support from IT Security team
- Leads regular patching and upgrading of network systems to minimize business risk
- Manages and troubleshoot network WAN and Internet connectivity throughout the organization
- Evaluates, tests, and deploys all software and hardware upgrades to the networking infrastructure and ensures all devices are current
- Proactively monitors all network devices, services, and servers using a combination of tools, both on premise and cloud to ensure high availability and SLAs
- Conducts self-audits of network policies
- Interfaces with vendors for procurement and maintenance of all IT network infrastructures
- Oversees management of external MSP vendor including auditing of services
- Creates and maintains network health dashboard and regularly reports on related KPIs
- Collects and review network and WAN utilization data for capacity and planning purposes
- Manages network spending by auditing WAN and ISP invoices and provides input to annual budget
- Partners with the IT Security Manager to maintain the Companys security posture
- Resolves escalated incidents, including 24x7 as needed
- Actively participates in troubleshooting efforts with peers to address issues impacting the organization and end-users
- Manages network related major incidents and completes root cause analysis process
- Assists in developing, implementing, testing, and maintaining disaster recovery plans
- Creates and maintains documentation for all processes and procedures
- Researches, evaluates, and recommends technologies to support business requirements and projects
- Performs other related duties and assignments as required
- Fluent verbal and written English communication skills required

- Incident management (e.g., restore service immediately with work-arounds, communicating and acting according to urgency and process)
- Process adherence (e.g., access control approvals, inventory replenishment, update CMDB)
- Process engineering to design workflows
- Proficient in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
- Maintains up-to-date knowledge of emerging tools and technologies including on premise and cloud
- Ability to work across teams and manage priorities to accomplish multiple tasks is required

- Wireless 802.11 APs; Cisco wireless management technologies, including WLC, ISE , NCS, and MSE
- Checkpoint, and Cisco ASA Firewall
- Cisco Adaptive Security Appliances, SSL VPN, and IPSec
- Intrusion detection/prevention and other security systems
- Traffic optimizers, such as Riverbed and F5 load balancers
- Hyper Converged Solution virtual networking including VMWare and Nutanix
- Administration/Implementation/Operations of F5 BigIP, LTM, GTM, iRules. APM.
- Network and routing protocols such as TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, EIGRP,VSS, and VXLAN
- Network services and traffic management systems, such as RADIUS, SNMP, SSH, sFlow, and InMon
- WAN Solutions MPLS, Site to Site VPN
- Connected infrastructure, including server operating systems, storage, and external clouds
- B2B and B2C connectivity with external vendors
- Systems monitoring software and services, such as syslog, SolarWinds and Splunk
- Motorola and Psion Teklogix RF session controllers and handheld RF devices
- On Prem to Cloud Connectivity (AWS, Azure, and Oracle Cloud VPN, Direct Connect)
- Familiarity with emerging technology SD-WAN, etc.
Education, Work Experience, and Professional Certifications:
- Bachelors Degree (preferably in Computer Science) and 10+ years of experience; or 15+ years of relevant work experience
- 10+ years of LAN experience
- 10+ years of WAN experience
- Cisco Certified Network Associate [CCNA] or similar certifications required
- Experience with ITIL framework or similar models for IT workflow
- Experience with specific technical products and services in use at TaylorMade
- Success working in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment
Work Environment / Physical Requirements:
- Normal office conditions with extensive computer and phone usage
- Ability to work extended hours as necessary
- Able to work efficiently and accurately in an atmosphere of frequent interruption
- Light physical effort equal to frequent lifting or moving of lightweight materials
- Limited domestic and international travel may be required
