The Report Developer II will serve as a member of a development team responsible for the reporting and Business Intelligence components of the GMSSP Platform. They will be responsible for the design, development and support of critical reports. Successful candidates will be strong contributors who have technical experience, a history of resolving issues in a dynamic, rapidly-growing environment, and have developed a track record of delivery.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Learn the security space and all aspects of security devices/software and methodology
- Become proficient in the GMSSP Platform from a technical and business perspective
- Design, develop, test and document custom reports based on business requirements, ensuring they are on time and high quality
- Design, develop, test and document sophisticated and optimized SQL queries, ensuring they are scalable and responsive
- Support and maintain existing reports; analyzing problems and resolving issues
- Participate in the design and implementation of the architecture, configuration, and maintenance of the Business Intelligence/Reporting infrastructure, including but not limited to:
- Tool Selection and vendor support
- Analyzing and predicting system utilization, failures, and risks and adjusting/tuning accordingly
- Consistent local development environments
- QA methods and parameters for testing
- Ensure developed reports conform to standards and are flexible, re-usable and optimized for performance
- Work with product management to clarify requirements and develop design documents based on business requirements
- Follow reporting and Business Intelligence best practices
- Provide feedback to senior team members and architects to:
- Imprve accuracy of the reports, maximizing quality
- Imprve system performance, maximizing response time and scalability
- Make changes t improve overall efficiency and reliability of reports
- Actively participate in the project planning process, providing accurate estimates, timely statuses and ensuring roadblocks are properly escalated
- Collaborate with remote and on-site resources
- Mentor peers, especially junior developers or new hires
- Participate in on-call rotation as needed
- Participate in code reviews, receiving feedback from senior team members and providing feedback to junior team members
MINIMUM QUALFICATIONS
- Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering or equivalent experience.
- 2+ years related experience
- Demonstrated proficiency with reporting and/or business intelligence tools, for example: Jasper, Jasper BI, Oracle BI, Hyperion, Crystal Reports, etc.
- Relational database experience. Preferred experience with Splunk, Oracle, SQL Plus, PL/SQL
- Technical understanding of Unix, Mac iOS, Windows Operating Systems
- Experience with the phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, deployments and documentation
- Experience with Agile Software Development principles and practices, particularly Scrum and Kanban
- Experience providing accurate estimates
- Experience with tools such as Jira and Confluence
- Familiarity with GIT or comparable source code repositories (i.e. Subversion)
- Able to demonstrate a history of successful problem solving, resolving complex issues
- Must have excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and productively with minimal supervision
- Ability to work well in a team environment; able to collaborate with product management, QA, and business.
- Ability to thrive under pressure, handle multiple competing priorities and function and deliver effectively in a fast-paced environment
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Software Development Experience with any of the following technologies: Java/J2EE, C or C++, JDBC, JMS, Spring, Hibernate, Log4J, Junit, HTML, CSS, JavaScript (including JS libraries such as AngularJS, jQuery, Ember.js)
- Experience developing reports in a Data Warehouse environment
- Experience integrating reports with Big Data
- Experience with ETL technologies and processes
- Experience with analytical/reporting databases and data modeling for Business Intelligence
- Secure coding experience; educated or certified in OWASP Top 10
