We are looking for an experienced Senior Reservoir Engineering Technician to join our Operations Group in Houston, Texas. The person in this role will be responsible for creating, updating and maintaining the corporate reserve database, as well as other Reservoir Engineering databases.
Our Senior Reservoir Engineering Technician will run economic software programs and generate cash flow forecasts for economic evaluations, as well as perform analysis using tools such as Excel and Spotfire. The Technician will be called upon to support other operations, planning, and finance teams, as necessary.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Update and maintain the reserve database
- Run economic case studies and generate cash flow forecasts
- Provide reports using knowledge of economic software, production data software and MS Office and Spotfire
- Provide support for Engineers such as gathering well, economic or production data
- Work with and deliver data requested by the reserve report consultants
- Manage the transfer of databases and other information required by outside auditors for reserve evaluations
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- College degree preferred; experience will be considered in lieu of degree
- Demonstrated proficiency using ARIES, Spotfire, Access and public information databases
- Proficiency with Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
- Previous experience with oil and gas production and accounting systems a must
- Experience with GIS mapping (ESRI, QGIS), a plus
- Experience with VBA, Python, and SQL, a plus
- Experience with 3esi-Enersight planning and forecasting, a plus
- Previous experience with year-end reserve reporting and management of data
- Self-starter with strong organizational skills and a demonstrated willingness and ability to learn new programs
- Ability to prioritize and balance multiple tasks and projects concurrently
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
