Responsibilities:

• Agile Software Development and Project Management

• Strong interpersonal and influencing skills and ability to interact with colleagues at all levels in a peer-like way, and achieve goals without direct control over resources

• Strong emerging end-to-end generalist problem solving skills, e.g. Defining and deconstructing problems

• Experience in Energy and Consulting preferred

• Prioritizing issues, analysis, and team capacity

• Structuring and building quantitative and qualitative/conceptual analyses

• Analyzing operational and financial data

• Working collaboratively with team members across LOBs and staff areas

• Identifying implications and so whats of data and analysis with the team

• Contributing to concise communication materials for senior management

Skills & Expertise:

• Power Market Operations Familiarity with trading, settlements, and financial instruments used in various markets (ERCOT, ISO-NE, MISO, PJM, NYISO, CAISO)

• Power P&L attribution Explaining month-to-date or day-over-day change of P&L. This role involves understanding current reporting, identifying process optimizations to automate manual tasks, and creating a solution for multiple regions (ERCOT, PJM, MISO, etc.)

• Gross Margin reconciliation Identifying and reconciling differences between reports produced by different parts of an organization, such as risk management and accounting.

• Additional functional knowledge, including:

  • Power trading

  • Gas trading

  • Mark-to-market

  • P&L attribution (PnL Explained)

  • Physical and Financial Gas and Power trades

  • Knowledge of retail and wholesale energy markets

  • ISO operations and settlements

  • Options valuation

• Desired technical knowledge (nice to have):

• Experience managing reporting, P&L, data analytics, and/or data warehouse projects

• MS SQL Server

• Oracle

• T-SQL, PL/SQL programming

• Talend, SSIS / SSDT, ETL, Data Wrangling

• NoSQL databases

• AWS Cloud technologies (Glue, Lambda, Redshift, S3, Athena)

• Snowflake
