We are looking for a skilled infrastructure engineer with determination and a self-starting attitude to join our team of developers and scientists. If you're interested in being part of an enthusiastic team building the future of simulation SaaS, we could be the right fit for you. You'll have freedom to operate and lead the way in our SaaS infrastructure development. You will work with various other experts all with their own specific expertise and all contributing to making our SaaS a success. As we are currently still a small team there are many shared responsibilities in the upkeep and development of the technical infrastructure. It is expected that you will take part on the work and decisions regarding both the SaaS infrastructure and systems, as well as the SaaS product development. Eventually you should be able to grow into a team-lead of the devops department and design future iterations of our platform.

Requirements
This position involves the following activities and requirements:
- Storage and computing API's (unification of resources)
- Queueing systems and schedulers
- Smart & automated migration of data (inexpensive long-term vs fast-IO short-term storage)
- Management of large and complex data sets
- Data security
- Hardware, networking, file-systems, and OS-level administration (Linux)
- Devops practices (monitoring, CI/CD, etc.)
- Living in the Netherlands or EU region
A bonus would be (some) experience with:
- Python (it's the milk in our porridge)
- Handling of various types of computing resources (HPC, cloud, local servers and containers)
- Handling of various types of storage (large-scale, high-availability, fast-IO; from remote tape drives to local ssd)
- Jupyterhub
- Computational physics
