Mobile Web Developer - work for one of the world's most innovative companies at Kano Computing (London, UK)

As Kano continues to grow, we’re looking for a full-time, front end web developer with Android experience (especially tablet) and/or iOS experience with particular hybrid mobile development experience, to join the team. This person should be a hungry, ingenious, and hands-on front-end creator to lead our development in the mobile and tablet space.


You'll work to build our creative coding projects and be responsible for taking our web-based Kano App experience to tablets to help drive our unique portfolio of learn to code software and hardware. You'll work to expand our online platform, Kano World (http://world.kano.me) and pioneer a number of imaginative online projects to make learning technology simple and fun for the next generation.


We are looking for multi-disciplinary, creative technologists that want to be challenged from a product perspective as well as technological, and are ready to level up. We love open-source and integrated devices and we work with Polymer and client-side MV* frameworks on the web.


REQUIREMENTS



  • Ideal candidates will have at least two years of commercial software development experience

  • Strong knowledge and implementation in at least one of the following mobile app frameworks: Cordova, Ionic, Phonegap or React Native

  • Understanding of underlying iOS & Android architecture, including app integration with Bluetooth or similar

  • Experience in deploying binaries to Google Play and App Store

  • Experience with HTML5, JavaScript, CSS3

  • Experience with one or more MV* frameworks (E.g. Angular 1/2, Polymer, React, Vue)

  • Solid UI development skills including responsive design

  • Design solutions that render consistently on mobiles and tablets

  • Good UI development skills and brand sense

  • Good understanding of MV* architecture, single-page applications and API integration

  • Product insight – you can speak and spec with simplicity and clarity


NICE TO HAVE



  • Development experience in Java, Swift and/or Objective C

  • Full-stack experience that includes Node.js and server side languages

  • Familiar in setting up mobile builds for Android, iOS and automated tests

  • Creative and versatile mindset

  • Open-source contributor

  • Passionate about integrated device
