Cloud Operations Engineer
Gorilla Logic is working with our client, who is an industry leader in providing high-resolution Earth imagery, data and analytic, to help build their team of highly intelligent and capable engineers. Our client is looking for a Cloud Operations Engineer, working with our client to build a multi-petabyte tiered storage system on the Amazon Cloud. Based in Westminster, Colorado, this is a unique and highly technical role, requiring extensive experience with continuous integration, Amazon Web Services, networking, security, Linux and application monitoring. Our environment will require you to work effectively with your teammates, of course. But your real success will be measured by how well you couple critical thinking with self-motivation, enthusiasm and determination.
Responsibilities
- Design, implement and maintain a petabyte-scale tiered storage infrastructure at Amazon
- Design, implement and maintain a continuous integration/delivery environment
- Build and support a scalable micro-services infrastructure at Amazon
- Architect and implement an application monitoring infrastructure
- On call support - once a month
- Work as an active participant in an Agile development environment; attend daily standups, sprint planning and retrospectives.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 2+ years experience building and managing a continuous integration environment such Jenkens
- 2+ years experience working with Amazon Web Services; EC2, S3, VPC, IAM and AWS CLI experience is required
- Experience with AWS Glacier, Lambda, API Gateway, RDS (Aurora, Postgres and/or MySQL) and/or Cloud Formation is a big plus
- Some Bash scripting experience is required
- Experience managing a Postgres database is a big plus
- Experience with Terraform is a big plus
- 3+ years of Linux experience including experience with shell scripting, networking, storage and release management
- Experience with Docker a plus
- Development experience with Java and/or Python is a big plus
- Must have the ability to work in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
- Strong communication skills to interact with Agile team members
