Fullstack Engineer who loves DevOps Reston VA at Falcon Logic LLC (Reston, VA)

US Citizens only....willing to undergo security clearance processing.

Background
Falcon Logic is a small company but growing fast – and we need you to grow with us. Be part of one of our agile development teams on a large government software development effort in Reston VA. We are building the next generation of warfighter and intelligence mission applications from the ground up. Use the latest tools, technologies, and DevOps practices in a SAFe (Scaled Agile Framework) approach to make a difference for your career and your country. This is not your typical government SW development job – join us from inception to delivery on this exciting project. Positions available across the spectrum including dev, QA, architecture, delivery. Cross-train across the disciplines and grow your career in the direction you want to – not the one your current boss puts you in. We also provide opportunities to work on commercial web and mobile applications and share in the profits.

Job Summary
In this job you’ll work on a small agile team with a few other developers and engineers. You and your team will be responsible for the entirety of an application – backend, frontend, data layer, API, maybe even throw on a mobile client. Small groups will build big things – and we need ideas. You’ll have support from architects and DevOps folks – but you’ll be the primary cog. You undoubtedly will be exposed to a technology or approach you haven’t seen before – grow from it. Build some Ansible scripts and help get your product rolled out faster.

Technologies used
• Angular/TypeScript – we are building out all our frontends on that now
• React – if you can really sell us, we’ll use that instead
• REST Apis – you need to use them and write them. Swagger is your friend
• JavaScript/CSS/HTML – did we really even need to list this??
• Node/NPM – for the Angular stuff
• Jira – tracking & scrum
• Java/C#/python/Ruby, whatever – we can build backends in what makes sense for the team skillset and for the project
• SQL/NoSql – they’re all around – what skills can you bring?
• Some old stuff – even though we’re building new applications from the ground up, there are still legacy apps around – and if we can deconstruct them where needed that’s a bonus

Technologies it would be great if you know
• AWS – whether we like it or not, that’s where the world is going
• Jenkins – can you help us with CI?
• Ansible/Chef/Puppet/Muppet – I think we should vote for muppet
• Whatever ideas you want to bring – help set the direction

Qualifications & Skills
• Experience developing enterprise applications using some or all of technologies listed above
• Self-starter – you run the show
• You’ve used Jira, Axosoft, VersionOne, or some other kind of Agile management software
• You’ve used some kind of version control – SVN git whatever they are all kind of the same
• You don’t mind sharing knowledge wherever possible on some sort of wiki like Confluence
• You have an interest in working in a continuous integration, agile environment. You might even want to help automate a build!
• You WANT to use the technologies above and are excited about learning new languages and techy things

Educational & Work Experience Requirements
We need a lot of different experience levels on this project. We’re not going to put you in a box – but when you submit your timecard, we have to.

• Level 1 – Bachelor’s degree/2 years’ experience
• Level 2 – Bachelor’s degree/4 years’ experience
• Level 3 – Bachelor’s degree/6 years’ experience
• Level 4 – Bachelor’s degree/8 years’ experience
• Level 5 – Bachelor’s degree/12 years’ experience
• Level 6 – Bachelor’s degree/16 years’ experience
• Military veterans encouraged to apply
