Junior JavaScript Software Engineer at Genus (Lysaker, Norway)

Are you passionate about JavaScript? Do you want to work in a fast growing Norwegian software company, with great opportunities to influence your own professional development as well as your organization?

Help us build the next version of Genus Apps; a no-code software development tool used by our customers to create innovative apps for web and desktop. In other words: we make a development tool that helps others create apps without the need for programming.

Our tool is used by large corporations for business-critical solutions within corporate performance management (CPM), resource management, business intelligence (BI), and more. The tool may be installed on premises, at third party hosting providers or in the cloud (Azure).

Your task will be to experiment with new technologies, determine how new building blocks can be added to our tool, and to program these building blocks. Your task will not be to maintain old code, but to create new code on new technologies.

We are adding new members to our team of JavaScript developers, and are looking for those who would like to be part of our highly skilled team of specialists delivering cutting edge software!

Typical activities for this position include:

  • Programming in JavaScript

  • Programming either client-side, server-side or both

  • Analysis of new technology and design how this fits into our tool

  • Architecture and design

We offer:

  • Exciting and challenging work in a growing company

  • Large and solid customers, both in Norway and internationally

  • Training and professional development in relevant technologies

  • Ability to shape the company and your own career

Skills & requirements:

  • Analytical and self-organized

  • Master or Bachelor of Science degree (or similar) with higher than average academic results in programming technologies

  • Strong and proven passion for programming, shown through programming projects of various sizes carried out before, during or after your formal education, in your spare time or otherwise. Show us your projects!

  • Preferably experience with JavaScript (front-end and / or server-side)

  • Preferably experience with HTML and CSS

  • Determination to continue your professional development as a programmer

  • Both graduates and experienced programmers are encouraged to apply

  • Highly proficient in spoken and written English

Your application should contain an application letter, your CV and your academic transcripts.
