The Role
As an experienced PHP Developer, your main responsibilities include the production, modification & maintenance of a back-end platform used by customers & staff. This involves working closely with other developers, the Business Analyst and QA Tester to ensure the website and associated services are built to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Maintain 1 bespoke platform that serves 18 websites with different languages, currencies and requirements
- Develop new feature requests and enhancements within the specification outlined by the Business Analyst
- Create efficient reporting facilities using framework’s ORM
- Optimisation of code for efficiency and scalability
- Integrating & maintaining XML, JSON & REST web services
- Creating & extending libraries for reuse
- Peer review branches of code before they move on to the QA Tester
Essential Skills
- 3+ Years OO PHP & MySQL experience
- MVC Framework (CakePHP, Symfony, Laravel, Zend)
- WAMP / LAMP Stack
- SSH & Basic Server administration
- Experience in caching technologies
- Git / Bitbucket Version control
- External web service experience (XML, JSON, REST)
- HTML5 & CSS - Twitter Bootstrap
- JS / jQuery
- Excellent written & spoken communication
