The Post trade reservoir group is hiring hands senior software engineers/tech leads with experience in Java/Scala and object oriented programming. You will be involved in entire lifecycle of the project including design, churn out a lot of code and support application through production. This is a great opportunity to be a part of a major platform build out from inception using big data and cloud technologies. The successful candidate will be part of a high energy team and have the opportunity to participate in building out the platform.
This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
Advanced knowledge of application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
Understanding of architecture and design across all systems
Working proficiency in developmental toolsets
Ability to collaborate with high-performing teams and individuals throughout the firm to accomplish common goals
Proficiency in one or more general purpose programming languages with 3+ years experience in building applications in Java
Understanding of software skills such as business analysis, development, maintenance and software improvement
Hands on experience in big data technologies including Storm or Spark, Hadoop, Kafka to name a few.
Experience with caches, multi-threaded design principles, concurrency is a plus.
Experience with Agile Scrum process, test driven development and continuous integration (Jenkins) and public cloud is a plus
Experience with Unix/Linux and shell scripting.
