The Role:
33Across is seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to join our team in expanding our current publisher, data and advertising platforms. Our publisher platforms are used by hundreds of thousands of websites globally. We have multiple large and complex data processing pipelines that handles billions of events and terabytes of data every day. And we help thousands of premium publishers monetize their content through advertising, partnering with most of the major tech companies in this space. This position will be instrumental in driving these numbers to unprecedented heights as we grow our publisher base, increase user reach and expand globally.
As Engineering Manager you will lead a team of senior software engineers in building or enhancing several of our frontend and backend platforms and products. Our tech stack includes JavaScript, Node.js, Java/Tomcat, Redis, Hadoop and related technologies. You will also contribute to our overall product and platform strategy, working with other engineering leads, product managers, and business stakeholders.
You Will:
- Lead a team of 4 senior software engineers in delivering a significant portion of our product roadmap.
- Hire strong candidates, provide coaching and mentoring, and facilitate career growth for your team.
- Play a technical project management role working with architects and other engineering and product managers in defining scope, allocating people, and managing timelines and deliverables.
- Provide technical leadership, review architectural and software design choices, and occasionally conduct code reviews for your team.
- Tackle performance bottlenecks, prioritize support tickets, lead resolution of production issues and champion improvements to our infrastructure.
- Help the team in adopting software development best practices.
You Have/Are:
- 10+ years of overall experience in most of our tech stack or industry, with 5+ years of technical leadership and people management experience.
- Good understanding of design patterns, object-oriented programming, software design and systems architecture.
- Well-versed in testing methodologies (TDD, BDD) and experience leading teams that believe in test automation.
- Passion for troubleshooting and debugging, and performance and benchmarking.
- Extremely articulate, with good presentation skills, a good listener, and proven ability to communicate ideas and solutions through clear documentation.
- Comfortable with Linux CLI, one or more scripting languages, and SQL.
- Willing to roll up sleeves to do hands-on coding occasionally.
- A Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or equivalent.
Bonus Points:
- You have prior experience building commercially successful AdTech products and experience in AdTech. Do you know your DFP, header bidders, exchanges?
- Experience leading small, fast-paced, distributed software development teams.
- Adopting Continuous Integration and Continuous Delivery in previous roles.
