Programmer/Technical Associate
Summary:
This on-site position reports directly to the Senior Vice President, Business Information Services in our Toledo, Ohio office. This position provides support to programming staff as well as technical assistance and support to internal personnel and clients.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Obtain general/technical understanding of application operations related to company offered services
- Perform setup of new accounts using company provide software tools
- Develop and assist with roll-out of training programs to staff/clients/vendors in the use of system, internet, and intranet applications
- Provide system support and technical issue resolution via email, phone and other electronic medium
- Identify and correct or advise, on operational issues in computer systems
- Assist with development and implementation of reporting metrics within the web platform
- Configuration of employee/vendor/client systems to connect to or access the company platforms
Additional Duties (other duties may be assigned as required):
- Assist in website development, client platform integration development and application design / architecture
- Support firm’s programming, web design and database maintenance/updating requirements
- Support and assist with infrastructure upgrades, including but not limited to: load-balancing, high-availability, redundant failure-paths
- Perform light lifting 25 lbs (occasional moving/setup/shipping computers)
- Monitor systems / solutions for performance issues or errors requiring correction
Skills & Requirements
The Ideal candidate will also possess the following skills:
- Able to work independently and efficiently to meet deadlines
- Experience with Object-Oriented programming, preferably in .NET using: VB, F#, C#
- Basic understanding of client-facing web-development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript
- Able to promptly answer support related email, phone calls and other electronic communications
- Self-motivated, detail-oriented and organized
- Experience with hardware and software issues and troubleshooting
- Proficient in Internet related applications such as email clients, FTP clients and web browsers
- Experience with network infrastructure, firewall configuration
- Excellent communication (oral and written), interpersonal, organizational, and presentation skills
- Preferred: working knowledge of SQL, preferably with focus on T-SQL
- Preferred: basic understanding of SQL Server Reporting Services (SSRS)
- Preferred: working knowledge of SOAP or REST based webservices, including XML and JSON formatting / parsing
