Python Software Engineer - Electronic Trading / Central Risk Book at JP Morgan Chase (Jersey City, NJ)

A developer position is available within JPMorgan Equity Electronic Trading Technology. In this role, the developer will work with Central Risk Book in Global Cash Risk Trading group to create a next generation high-touch automated equity trading system. The main development platform is a python-based analytics/risk/trading system. The candidate should have strong python knowledge and experience in developing and maintaining server-based applications. The experience with developing the risk-based trading system is a plus, but not required. The developer will work very closely with the desk and will have large exposure to the risk-based equity trading.

This role requires a wide variety of strengths and capabilities, including:

• BS/BA degree or equivalent experience
• Expertise in application, data and infrastructure architecture disciplines
• Advanced knowledge of architecture, design and business processes
• Keen understanding of financial control and budget management
• Ability to work collaboratively in teams and develop meaningful relationships to achieve common goals
• Expertise in Python development (3+ years experience)
• Ability to work with various different trading and risk systems
• Linux / Unix experience
• Experience in Java, Risk Management and Agency/Principal Trading Applications are all plusses
