In order to help us with this mission, we need a extraordinary Senior Data Engineer to build and own our analytics infrastructure so all the teams in the company can slice-and-dice the data as they need

THE POSITION
As our first Senior Data Engineer you will be responsible for building the next version of our data analytics platform:
- Design, build, and manage data marts to serve the analytical needs of each department in our company.
- Combine data from disparate sources into a unified & reliable source of truth.
- Ensure data quality and verifying complex queries for correctness.
- Launch and support new data models that provide intuitive analytics to internal customers.
- Interface with internal data consumers to understand data needs.
Proactively research and extract insights that can help guide the business.
YOU
- 4+ years of experience as a Data Engineer or similar role.
- Previous experience with terabyte-scale datasets.
- Experience building dashboards and visualizations for business intelligence.
- Expertise in SQL and PostgreSQL in particular (advance querying, aggregation,and performance optimisation skills).
- Expertise with at least one of the following: Kafka, Kinesis, BigQuery, Redshift, Airflow.
- BS in Computer Science or related quantitative field or a solid grasp of Set theory.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills and ability to articulate technical concepts clearly and succinctly, in English.
- Believe that written and spoken communication is the most important skill to solving any engineering problem.
- Your soft skills include, empathy, inquisitiveness, and open mindedness; we are not big on dogma or cargo-culting here.
- Thrive when working as part of a diverse, multicultural, multidisciplinary team.
- Relentlessly seek simple, elegant solutions to complex problems.
- You've worked at a fast-paced, agile, product-oriented technology company before.
