Full Stack Engineer at Vistar Media (New York, NY)

New York City based ad-tech startup Vistar Media is currently seeking full-stack engineers to help grow its connected devices division. The successful candidate will be part of a team focused on IoT and Smart Cities projects.


Vistar Media is the leading technology company in the Digital Out Of Home industry. A big part of Vistar’s mission is to make the screens out in the world smart enough to react to a variety of data inputs, and then use that data to build a dynamic, engaging experience on the fly. The connected devices team builds the backbone technology that powers internet connected screens and other types of hardware.


You will be part of a highly skilled engineering team and be able to make an immediate impact. As one of the early team members, you will play an integral role in shaping up our core technology. Your work will be highly visible and critical to our success. You will be exposed to a variety of technologies from networking to desktop applications on multiple operating systems and you will have the chance to learn and own parts of the system.

REQUIREMENTS



  • Have experience with the full stack, from the database to CSS

  • Expertise in at least one compiled, one interpreted language and one web framework

  • Expertise in web technologies

  • Experience with developing complex software systems with production quality deployment, monitoring and reliability

  • Understand HTTP and Websockets

  • Be able to decompose business requirements into a set of RESTful resources

  • Expertise in Linux


WOULD BE NICE IF YOU:



  • Have run a system on AWS

  • Are familiar with Python web development and have experience with libraries like Flask and SQLAlchemy

  • Are familiar with browser technologies like V8, WebKit, Compositing, etc

  • Know how to do memory profiling for a web app

  • Have built a desktop application using native frameworks or with Electron-like technologies
