About the role:
Founded in Singapore in 2015, TenX is developing applications to make digital currency spendable anytime anywhere by offering a debit card payment system.
TenX is building a payment platform in the cloud to allow our customers to spend blockchain assets at any merchant that accepts payment cards. Join our team of software engineers as an Architect, a senior technical role where your experience in building complex software systems helps the team deliver against product roadmaps and business goals. Our software engineers aren’t afraid of working with new technologies, and as an Architect you will put the “new” in context of your wide experience to recommend the best path forward. While your past experience and varied expertise is important, it is even more essential that you are open to new ideas, motivated and hold yourself accountable to the highest standards in software engineering. We value contributions to open source software projects, experience building startup MVPs, giving talks, and organizing communities. TenX engineers are experts in their fields and leaders among their peers; we expect you to have these qualities too. As a senior member of our engineering team, Architects are expected to be thought-leaders in the industry.
This is largely an Individual Contributor role but strong leadership qualities will be required to lead a technical team and negotiate with stakeholders.
Due to the nature of our business, candidates are required to have direct and relevant experience in the payments industry. It is also helpful to have an interest in crypto-currency, and excitement to be part of a growth-stage startup.
Job Duties:
- Collaborate with Engineering, Product and various Business Units to architect Core payment systems
- Partner with engineering, business and product leaders as well as external vendors and consultants to ensure strategy and roadmaps effectively support growth plans and market requirements
- Work with engineers, team leads, leaders to improve functionality, performance, scalability and reliability across our technology platforms
- Stay abreast of technology trends in payments and crypto; Be a thought-leader and in-house expert
- Mentor and develop engineering talent by setting and maintaining high-standards in software engineering
- Identify project or technology risks, investigate and provide alternative solutions and risk mitigation. Perform post-mortem root cause analysis and propose solutions.
Requirements:
- 10+ years of direct Software Engineering experience
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field (Masters preferred)
- Experience in the payments industry particularly with card networks and online payment
- A high-level of proficiency with both object-oriented and functional programming paradigms, and a track record of writing production-ready code
- Experience with Event-driven and SOA models, microservices and/or serverless architectures
- Familiarity with CI/CD and DevOps best practices
