A talented Procedural Technical Artist to work as a bridge between the game development and our Game Technology services group. To be successful in this role, you are experienced with procedural tools development, an excellent communicator, with strong problem-solving skills, and with a respect for aesthetics. Working with the Game Technology service group to provide support to art and animation teams for each title, help design and maintain project workflows, script tools, learn and support client-specific tools and procedures.
Your Contribution
  • Collaborate with other departments to support the environment, animation, and programming teams with proprietary game build systems to help standardize tool-sets and workflows.
  • Proactively resolve technical issues related to performance or Game Art pipeline
  • Develop training material to assist the art team in learning new technologies and processes
  • Successfully meet project deadlines/milestones, as set by Project Managers and the production department
  • Support improvement/enhancement of processes throughout the project cycle
  • Recognize inefficiencies and assist with designing, implementing and maintaining art production tools using both off-the-shelf and proprietary software
  • Design and develop procedural art workflows using Houdini to recreate natural phenomena like vegetation, plants, textures, streets and buildings
  • Effective authoring, maintaining and customizing scripts for production team
  • Test and evaluate new internal and off the shelf software tools and technologies for real-time artwork development

Your Experience
  • 3+ years in computer generated art, preferably in game development
  • BS degree in Computer Science, Graphic Art, or a related field, or equivalent training experience
  • Excellent knowledge of Maya and Houdini development
  • Positive, solution-oriented individual with a passion for game development
  • Driven to solve problems and build easy to use tools and create efficient workflows for artists
  • Experience with Art and or Animation Game Production pipelines and workflows
  • Successfully executed projects utilizing Substance Painter with PBR workflows
  • Ability to demonstrate an understanding of Game Art development pipelines for animation, modeling, materials/textures, and visual effects
  • Passionate about playing and making games

  • Experience with console development
  • Experience with Python Tools development
  • Substance Painter art workflow skills
  • Solid understanding of Rigging & Animation
