We are the first commercial spin-out of the Square Kilometre Array, the world’s largest radio telescope and the next mega-science project. Nyriad develops storage-processing technology to enable data processing and storage on volumes of data beyond the scale of today’s internet, and is now partnering with technology giants like Nvidia and Microsemi to commercialize it. CERN and the LHC gave birth to the world wide web and changed the world of computing. As a Senior Test Engineer, you will participate in our engineering onboarding program. The onboarding program will bring you up to speed on Nyriad's technology and introduce you to the skills you need to function in an agile, self-managing engineering organization with ambitious business and technical objectives. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES/OUTPUTS
- Defining, developing and implementing software verification systems, frameworks and processes while applying the Agile, Continuous Test and Integration methodologies
- Developing automated tests and supporting software engineers in developing automated tests at the component and system level
- Encouraging the reuse of the automated tests by software engineers, and system verification engineers using common frameworks and hardware (e.g. white box and black box)
- Developing testing metrics and reporting tools to monitor the improvement of the verification process, and documenting changes to the process.
- Testing Linux embedded drivers and distributed cloud data center implementations
WHAT YOU WILL NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL
- Tertiary qualification(s) in the software engineering field.
- Qualification(s) in software testing (ISTQB or similar)
- Knowledge of CPU software development using object-oriented languages.
- Linux Kernel & device driver knowledge/testing
- Sound understanding of Linux Operating Systems, Storage Systems, GPU and parallel processing techniques, databases, and SQL
- 2+ years experience as a software engineer using C, C++, CUDA, Python or Golang ( 8+ years preferred )
- 3+ years experience in performing unit and system testing on embedded software and distributed cloud software
- 3+ years experience in writing test plans, test procedures and test reports
- 3+ years experience in using test tools
- Working knowledge of IT-Based Tools e.g. Jira
- Experience in leading teams
- Full NZ driving license
SKILLS THAT WILL GIVE YOU A SIGNIFICANT ADVANTAGE
- GPU software development using object-oriented languages
- The application of current software test methodologies for embedded devices and cloud-based systems
